Im playing on a 49 inch ultra wide Odyssey G9. Ive been messing around with video and graphics settings and it wont go away.
Its not that big of a deal but is kind of an eye sore. It does this for HUD menu stuff on both the left and right ends of the screen. The game environment doesnt have this blur/tracer thing.
Running on a Ryzen 7800X3D with a 7800XT. 32GB DDR5.

I have same shit, kinda ghosting. RTX 4080.
It’s cyberpunk. It does the same shit on my Xbox. At least, as far as I know. I couldn’t find any way to really address it myself, but if not the norm it certainly is extremely common with this game for some reason.
Lol why was this downvoted so much? Odd. Says the exact same thing as many other comments.
Its not normal, idk how to fix tho
Never had this issue and I play on PC. Has to be a setting or driver issue maybe?
Just imagine it’s your cyberware glitching.
Immersion!
your montor has ghosting then
Not sure if this will fix it, but try finding the chromatic aberration setting and turning it off
This is 100% by design and part of the game’s hud UI, not hardware / setting issue. You can remove it with mods https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2648 .This is the way the dev wanted it to look like the info is being cast on your eye lens.
Added: Maybe an ultra wide thing that makes it worse but my 3440×1440 looks the same.
Yeah, it’s kind of a shit UI. Makes you think the smearing on NPCs and cars with Path Tracing on is part of the world though… I guess.
It’s normal but it looks worse because of your ultrawide monitor
For unbiased, how’s Cyberpunk on ps5?
Is it worth getting it along with expansion pack?
Yes. Annoying, isn’t it?
[There’s a mod to remove it.](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2648?tab=posts)
did you give your character astigmatism?
Yes and it’s horrendous, I completely turn off the HUD apart from my health bar in CP77. Way better experience IMO and easier to appreciate the visual beauty of the game. It’s just you have to check the map in the menu.
“What is cyberpunk, is this what is called a genre defining aesthetic?”
It looks like this for me on Series X and I can’t stand it.
I had to go into setting and change stuff when I first started playing the motion blur was wild. Couldn’t look at it for more than 30 seconds. But yours looks like something worse.
Yeah, I have this on my 1080p LCD, too, its a game effect, but due to your screen being ultra-wide the effect is probably “wider” than it normally would be on a 16:9 display like mine.
Fun fact is that some of my screens including this one would also have this issue when using a VGA signal, where bright stuff on dark background would also “echo” to the right of itself just like this effect. Except it wasnt an effect and happened everywhere. Not a huge issue though, got solved when I used HDMI-to-DVI cable (my monitor is stupidly old), so its probably an issue of the analog signal getting distorted by a bad DAC in the DVI-VGA or HDMI-VGA adapter.
As a fellow g9er, go get the mod that lets you place the hud elements where you want them. The default scaling safe zones actually work in 2.0 now, but that mod is still a godsend for ultrawide.
I have this on PS5 with my 4K TV. Cars have afterimages when I drive fast enough too
I have always found this annoying and thought at first it was related to nvidia dlss, but after turning it off I was still seeing it.
I feel it’s normal. I have this on my ultrawide too.
Damn, that looks absolutely awful. It was way more mild at 4k on a tv.
Looking like trash it’s pretty normal
I never noticed this when I played it 2 years ago and then I saw it recently when I was testing a new monitor. Idk why they would add this.
maybe turn off chromatic aberration?
You can use a mod from nexusmods to remove this effect
Chromatic aberration was doing that to phasmophobia for me. Turning it off fixed it there
Yeah it’s a stupid feature. It definitely looks a little more exaggerated due to your monitor, but it’s not a problem with your hardware or anything. It’s a design choice by the developers.
Imagine how annoying it is playing this game on console sitting in your living room trying to read tiny text and deal with the double vision bleed.
Try uncrossing your eyes /s.
Turn off hud besides what gig you’re doing and the map
I must be the only asshole that plays with only the map and health hud.
Play on a recommended resolution. Not a stretch extra wide monitor
fun to see this bug is still going
You have cyberpsychosis
Most of the games are made for 16:9 or something around that. I’ve seen many streamers playing in window mode or borderless to counter problems with wide screens
Yes it by design and ulgy as fuck
After a few too many drinks, it happens to me also
Turning off chromatic aberration doesn’t fix it?
I have the same monitor and was playing this earlier. Had the same thoughts so thanks for asking!
There is a mod on nexus that removes this effect on the hud if it’s that big of an issue for you. It’s called “Purify The UI”
This happens to me only when using fsr try running on native rrsolution
yes, it’s part of the effect in the game and your monitor makes it pop further. kinda cool in my opinion ngl.
