I used to be able to do flight controls just fine way back on old games like X-Wing, Flight Simulator, and Wing Commander. Then I stopped playing games like that and spent years playing FPSs, now my brain gets utterly confused by flight controls, sometimes I do it right, sometimes I do the opposite, it’s completely unpredictable.
I tried playing Star Wars Squadron with flight controls, kept messing up, flipped to non-inverted, and kept messing that up too. It was hopeless and I just had to back away slowly.
Pushing forward to look up should be called inverted, it’s the wrong way round. What people call inverted should be called ‘natural’ and always default.
*tries to pull up*
*buries nose into hillside*
I swear it only makes sense if you pull back the plane should go up…
I approve of this post but disapprove of people who uses plane yoke logic for FPS games.
*Edit* but my god games NEED the reverse vertical option so we can ALL enjoy gaming 🙂
I blame star fox 64 for me playing almost every game I play inverted now
Disagree. Back is up, forward is down.
How does the other way make any sense?
EDIT: I was confused about which is which as I use inverted for flight but normal for FPS. Apologies.
Planes the video game made me play every game like up is up and down is down
I’ve played inverted y-axis for fps since counter strike
It’s weird to me to realize that there are games where flight controls are not inverted. That would make it so hard to fly.
Fly to mouse versus Mouse joystick
I played inverted on Halo 2 for a greater challenge and now it’s the only way I play decently…
Flight controls should be inverted, but so help me if my aiming controls are inverted.
I’m not even an inverted player, and this just makes the most sense.
It only makes sense when using a Joystick, otherwise I want the vehicle to follow the camera (so up is up etc)

I play inverted Y axis on all games. When I told my buddy he called me the devil.

That’s me everytime they ARE inverted. I’ll never get that trophy on Ratchet and clank 2’s space races because I cant uninvert the controls.

Starfox is the reason I play all FPS games inverted
I’m inverted y-axis for life. There is an invisible pivot between my hand and the screen, and anything to the contrary is heresy.
