This was difficult to watch. But it was definitely worth watching. It’s a microcosm of just how terrible and traumatic school shootings can be. And when you add police incompetence to the mix, then that just compounds the tragedy.
These “officers” are more concerned with looking tough, playing cop games and buying military type equipment then actually doing their first priority of protecting the public. They are pathetic and disgusting.
Holy hell I’m at the 24 minute mark of the shooting where a random cop decided to check one of the classrooms next to them to find kids in there. The whole damn time they didn’t evacuate at all.
Nope. No way I’m watching that. Just knowing it happened fills me with rage. Watching this will take a few years off my life. Fuck all the police there. Just…fuck.
Well made documentary, but there was some rather important information omitted. And also it did not reveal any new information whatsoever. Kind of waste of their time, honestly. We knew all of this and much more from the Interim Report released more than a year ago.
First they didnt talk about the doors or explain why the breach took place when it did. There was very short mention about keys and breaching tools, which was one of the majorit components that ultimately allowed the breach. Second they did not talk about the AR rated shield that was the other component required for the breach.
They talked about the radio, but didnt mention how it did not work inside of the hallways (but we have seen people having to step outside to communicate).
Cascade failure of Chernobyl proportions, exposing systemic failures of complete lack of command, coordination, communication, and most glaring lack of courage and bravery, all because of a .223 in the dark behind an unchecked, unlocked room full of avoidable deaths. I’ve had CQC training back in Iraq 2009 and we were more thorough than any of this. But the fact they just assumed they needed to hear screams and see blood before they realize the urgency is just absurd as a response.
Contrast the families and victims of the Uvalde, Texas School shootings with the families and victims of the Sandy Hook. The Uvalde, Texas families were not guest on ABC, MSNBC, FoxNEWS, CNN for sit down conversations with Anderson Cooper. [Where they were bizarrely HAPPY!] The Texas families haven’t been spotlighted and filmed before congressional hearings on gun control. They are not the benefactors of their own multi-million dollar charities. The UvaIde, Texas families haven’t collectively settled for $73M from Remington Arms, bankrupting the gun manufacture. Their Texas school hasn’t been demolished [note: it is slated to be demolished] and replaced with a brand new 86,000-square-foot $50million dollar school. The Uvalde parents haven’t collectively targeted those asking questions about the mass shootings, and the Uvalde parents will never be awarded a billion dollar settlement [as the Sandy Hook parents have] for their pain and suffering.
The next time your state, county or city is pushing for massive spending on armored vehicles, weaponry and surveillance… call them the fuck out on it. I spotted at least two armored vehicles and nearly 400 LEOs waddling around in G.I. Joe cosplay.
LEOs should be trained with what they have rather than just giving them toys to parade on IG to ‘protect’ a town of 400. The weakest links are the untrained cowards.
That clip of the little girl covered in blood on the bus saying that she was on the phone with police, tears me up. She believed they were coming, she believed the good guys were coming. Instead they all stood outside in their kevlar helmets, body armor, ballistic shields, and rifles, and let women and children to be murdered behind a door that WASN’T EVEN LOCKED.
Harrowing. Read the [companion piece](https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/uvalde-shooting-student-officer-trainings/) this morning – what a fucking disaster. Arredondo deserves his role as a sacrificial lamb and the Uvalde PD will always be synonymous with cowardice.
“Response”.
I don’t think that word means what you think it does.
I didn’t see any response.
Video not available 🙁
Edit: it’s available [here](https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/inside-the-uvalde-response/).
Video nuked?

“‘No Way to Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation…
I hope they spent enough time accurately capturing the police pissing themselves.

Texas cops are all cowards just hoping to ride it out long enough to cash pension checks.
Watched this last night. Frontline does not fuck around. The fucking door being likely unlocked, insane.

Why weren’t any of the coward police charged?
They talked up the gunman like he was some god-tier level sniper with armor-piecing rounds. It’s like a whole force made up of Chief Wiggums.
Do you mean lack of response from uvalde police?
Are there any mirrors?

A clusterfuck of cowardice.

Why did the shooter start killing people?
Cop at the beginning of this: “I know this is the job we signed up for but…”
Everything you need to know right there.

It’s almost like the cops that put on all that tactical gear just want to cosplay as heroes but not actually be them.

What. A. JOKE.
Ask yourselves: If the police don’t have to do shit to protect anybody, why do they exist then?
Once you ask yourself that and see things like this, you’ll never support the police again.
It’s not available now, where can I find it?
