Iirc, he and his brother wrote The Dangerous Book For Boys. It was a pretty nifty book, with bits of history, art, things like tying knots, making bows and arrows, and overall a fun, well rounded book that boys (and girls!) would like.
Then one of them branched out into writing novels. One, im guessing conn, wrote a fictional but roughly based on history series on Julius Caesar, and also genghis khan. They were decently written, and good for boys of say 12 to 16, seemed the target group.
If it’s not sugma male fiction I don’t want it.

The Jennifer Lawrence came and ruined everything for male leads in the action genre
Not sure what’s wrong with that
I read one of his earlier books.
