In October 1967, a young Iggy Pop attended a Doors concert at the University of Michigan. Pop later stated that the concert had a “profound effect” on him, and soon after, Pop formed “The Stooges” – which even signed with The Doors’ record label – Elektra Records.

Iggy *loved* Morrison’s on-stage antagonism. He recalled how Morrison spent the gig singing in a falsetto ‘Betty Boop’ voice, to the growing anger of university jocks in attendance.
