And in the 70s, there was a COACH CLASS lounge on cross-country 747s and 707s. Flhying used to be fun, and all the flight attendants were pretty.
One time when I was 20 I was working In the appliance department at sears, and this older man (late 60s, very early 70s) came up to me and flat out said while staring at me “I’m a pilot, and you should be a flight attendant, you have the face for it…..and the figure” while slowly looking me up and down. I can only imagine he must have assumed I would be wearing something like this lol
They should totally bring this back.

Southwest was originally marketed as a sort of hooters in the air. This is why their signage still has hearts in it. They only let men be flight attendants when the federal government forced them, in a case that is still taught in law schools.

Terminal 1 at SFO has a great little exhibit of flight attendant uniforms through the decades… it’s really cool to see some of them, but also see how objectifying some were.
