The game’s name is Roxy Raccoon’s Pinball Panic and it is partially inspired by Sonic Spinball. I tried making a traditional Pinball game but sprinkled in a few elements from 3d platformers such as collectables and a story mode!
May I ask for a brief summary on how you did all this solo? I’m guenily interested in your process and want to know the challenges involved. Specifically if any previous game engine knowledge was required. Apologies if I’m out of line askingthis.
You know, the best thing about programming a game like pinball these days is that most of the really super difficult physics stuff is handled for you by the engine, meaning you have more time to do the more *fun* part of development like coming up with the actual table layouts, gameplay mechanics, and designing the aesthetics of the environment.
Imagine having to code all of the physics from scratch.
Looking good.
Some design advice: Make the Colour of your board customisable. If you plan on doing something like a „bonus points mode“, you could give it a rainbow effect. Also, don’t forget a Setting for screenshake strength (or option to turn off for people who get nauseous from that);
If you want to do full-physics pinball you will want to increase zoom speed on the camera and hardlock it into full-view during multiball mode.
But if you want to keep the speed the same, you might want to consider placing a maximum speed on the ball, which you could slowly let increase as the game goes on, eventually removing it altogether.
Virtual Pinball has seen a big uptick with the release of more budget-friendly consumer cabinets.
Adding in a portrait mode that has a fixed top/down camera would let people play on those. If your stages are too long you could also have it scroll vertically, this works well with the new Demon’s Tilt game.
Myself I mostly miss 2D flipper-games like Pinball Dreams, but failed making my own version – have you had any problems with balls being too fast for the physics engine?
That’s where I got stuck 🙂 -fast balls and fast flippers did not go well together for me
Looks nice!
I’d definitely play that
I miss pinball games
Looking great so far. The screen shake when hitting those (point bumpers?) Is a nice touch
I thought this was Knockout City for a second
Seems very good. Take a look on Senran Kagura Peach Ball, that game is a pretty solid pinball game, with extra quirks of course.
I remember playing this game when I was 4-5 on my laptop. Don’t remember the name but it was fun to play
It bothers me that you didnt hit the ball at the end.

Whoa this looks amazing! I love me some pinball. Will I be able to pay you for this someday?
Nice work
The spotlight moves too fast and a bit distracting. Otherwise I like the look of the game.
Try doing something unique as there are many pinball games already, even a pinball metrovania.
Is the dark hidden secret that the pinballs are psychic alien eggs that wanna take over the world????
Haha but really, I love it! It looks fantastic!
Shut up and take my money! No really, soon as it’s ready let me know!
PINBALL GAME HELL YEAH

Price would be?
I’m looking for a game that really makes me feel like a pinball
Do not make this game. It would destroy my time management. Lol
