Chicago is probably my favourite city.

Winter is coming
I was there recently and also really loved it. Only disturbing part of the downtown skyline is the Trump building.
Lived there 25 years, it’s pretty great, especially if you are young.
I read this to the tune of “I’m in love with a stripper” in my head.
Chicago is such an amazing city. Just moved back after a few years and my wife says, “I’m so happy here” at least once a week.
I figured it was BS when named the murder capital of the US. Just eat a bad ass hot dog and relax

I loved it, lived downtown for 7 years. The violence is real tho, regardless of what you say. I lived near Navy pier and we saw and heard shootings from time to time… it was a fact of life, especially in some of the surrounding neighborhoods

There’s a lot to love. If you get a chance, make your way over to The Lincoln Lodge on Milwaukee for a comedy show. It’s a non profit comedy theater and the best of the best in the city perform there and hang there.
After getting shit on repeatedly this past week because of the Bears on social media, it’s nice to see some love for our city haha
Over 2300 people shot year to date. 2021 was the high and it’s crept down slightly the last 2 years which is good, at least from a Homicide perspective (near 500 expected)

How empty are the office buildings downtown still? Office buildings in Phoenix seem to be ghost towns. It’s weird. My fiancée’s building has 4 other people besides her and her boss.

Went there a few years ago 3 days for a rays game and just loved walking around downtown, Sunday morning was so nice and love the architecture

I drove 6700 miles from Atlanta to LA to Chicago to Boston and then back to Atlanta for my 40th birthday a couple of years ago. Stayed in Chicago two nights and even though I didn’t experience a whole lot, I really enjoyed it and have been plotting another road trip up there since. One of these days. From LA, it’s a haul but from Atlanta, it’s really not a bad drive.
I adore the United building (on the left).
I have to say, wasn’t my favorite place I’ve been. It just isn’t a fun place to me, and what I mean is that when I’ve been there (3 times), it’s not the kind of place that makes me want to get out and explore and experience the city like other places have. It’s also the first city where a homeless man begged me for money and when I told him I had no cash, he told me he took PayPal lmao

Shit hole around every corner, law enforcement doesn’t prosecute murderers, some nice food and structures but wouldn’t want to have to be there daily.
Chicago is the most photogenic city in the US, IMO.
