If you grew up in the 80s, you saw this commercial – Dorf on Golf (1989)

Yeah, this was not Tim Conway’s best work.
Completely ignoring any offensiveness, that just does not look funny
He actually made 8 Dorf direct to video “films”
I thought it was mildly funny. Tim Conway Jr has a show on KFI during the early evening (pacific) that’s pretty fun. He has a similar sense of humor. He gives a funny yet questionable take on the days news that I like.
I grew up in the 80s but I never heard of this, but then again I didn’t have cable I didn’t watch a lot of TV.
So what is going on there? They just dug a hole deep enough for him to stand in and then put shoes over his knees? I guess if you cut the turf right you can just fill the hole in and repair the turf.
That Leonard guy is the ghost in Ghost.
I never realized…Dorf = Dwarf
How did 7 year old me not realize this?
I vaguely remember Dorf.
… and now that one joke on Friends makes sense…
$33.95 in May of 87 dollars is equal to $91.06 in 4/23 dollars according to data.bls.gov
Just imagine spending over $90 on 30 minutes of THAT.
Man, he got a lot of play out of that one “joke”.
I grew up in the 80s and I didn’t just see this commercial; my parents rented the full video on betamax. Back when Little Caesar’s pizza was actually pretty good. And that’s the only thing I really remember about Dorf on Golf
*in the US
Threedom?
Saw the commercial? We had the VHS. For some reason, 8 year old me thought it was funny as shit. Looking at this commercial though it just seems cringe as hell. But I do kind of wonder if this might just be because it’s an absolutely terrible commercial, not that I actually expect the show itself to still be funny.
That was… boring.
Ah tu tu tu tu tuuu.
Tim Conway was so funny doing dorf. Great stuff.
Yup. My dad had Dorf on Golf and Dorf at the first games on mt Olympus. Pretty sure my mom bought them for him. They were fun to watch.
I vaguely recall seeing one where he had some sort of device on his body that would shock him if he made the incorrect posture while golfing. That’s about my only experience with it.
Tim Conway’s best stuff was on the Carol Burnett Show. My favorite is the bit about the baby elephant when he had the cast laughing so hard they couldn’t finish the sketch.
I’ve seen all of the Dorf stuff as my grandfather loved them. LMAO!
So many dads had this damn tape.
Dorf goes fishing was the best

God bless Tim Conway.
