It’s an amazing set up and display of the old days. Look at that model 2 Genesis and Sega CD combo with the 32X. They got the old boxy NES and the slick looking re-release, along with the Famicom itself I think. What else… Dreamcast, XBox, Master System…. Turbo Duo? I can see some portables underneath the tv, game boys, game boy advances, DS… It’s really something.
I mean anyone with a computer has the same or better access to all of this and doesn’t cost 10s of thousands of dollars and a giant chunk of your house. It looks cool though.
With ODEs and FPGA flash carts you can have many times over this collection and fit it all in a single closet, and still get the benefit of not dealing with annoying graphic / audio issues emulating later 3D games that nobody cared to playtest and nobody will ever care to fix.
I have a massive retro collection but I very rarely play any of it. I just can’t muster up the enthusiasm sadly.
I just kind of like having it and thinking I’ll play something soon.
Emulators are a thing. I get collecting is fun and that setup is impressive, but you can already play all of those games on any PC that came out in the past 20 years with a usb controller that is a near exact replica of the original
I think you would, because as soon as you have all this, the paradox of choice comes into play. You won’t feel like playing almost any of them because there’s always something else you could be playing from your own collection.
/shrug. I have more games than that on Steam. I started on ColecoVision and played everything in between but “Retro” gaming is dull and boring to me. Ok, I might bust out Earthbound but only because they haven’t released it on the Switch.
This is pretty much me with my Steam Deck.
The latest EmuDeck makes it so much easier I have spent a hundred hours on DS games alone
You would if the tv stopped working.

I’d probably need to schedule touching grass

I dont own this, and I rarely ever see daylight. The problem of getting to work before the sun goes up and not getting off till it goes down.
It’s all fun and games until you have to clean and dust everything.
I’d end up never playing anything as too stuck what to choose to play… too much choice
That looks like a pretty complete Gamecube collection. Wow.
Do you see sunlight anyway?
“I have nothing to play” the room
thats a lot of dusting
i dont see a step ladder so those games on top are never getting touched. like most of these games.
Plenty of sun in the desert levels
If you have a phone that was made in the last 6 years you are two 3 sec downloads away from having this.
My phone is 6 years old and I play Marvel vs Capcom 2 with no slowdown.
Almost any controller will sync right up. And you will also spend more time trying to think of what you wanna play vs playing anything.
Lol they added end labels to all of their N64 cartridges since those fuckers at Nintendo didn’t.
So is no one else bothered by the fact that the game is stretched?
Now that’s what I call a Game Room✨
I would play the first few levels of 2-3 different games, and then I’d never touch it again.
Let’s be honest, yes you would.
You’d walk into the room, look at the shelf, and be like “*If only there was something to play…”*

Zelda shelf!
You already don’t …
After a while it just takes up too much room and you end up throwing most of it away if you got interest in other hobbies.
I have a similar collection. Thinking about selling it. Any suggestions?
Hey that’s My retroarch’s background
Aghh! Natural light! Get it off me, get it off me!
My literal dream home. I wonder how much money and time was sunk into this place….
I dont

Future /r/legaladvice thread: “I spent so much time playing retro games, I’ve been declared legally dead. How do I fix this?”
