Hi everyone, I took this picture of the abandoned rollercoaster at Dragon Centre, Hong Kong. The rollercoaster can be seen up close at the top floor of the arcade area of the mall which is publicly accessible.
As to why the rollercoaster closed down remains speculative as no official reason was ever published. Some locals believe that it might have been a case of safety issues as someone fell from the rollercoaster. However, some locals claimed that it was closed due to financial reasons as the ride didn’t receive many visitors but the management company has kept renewing the license every year. I’m not certain as to which reason sounds more plausible for it’s closure, but I found the spot quite cool as it’s quite rare to find an indoor rollercoaster inside a mall and decided to make moody edit out of it to kinda further represent the feeling of abandonment.
Nice shot!
Was it abandoned because riders would fall off from the train?
Pretty cool pic! Not sure it matters what it was shot with lol

I knew I recognized the coaster though that’s definitely from a less recognized POV so I had to read the blurb before going oh yeah.
Never got to go on it though.
But also there are people in the building so it’s kind of odd to call it abandoned instead of decommissioned.
we had one here, retailers not liking the noise may have been part of the reason it stopped
