Have a mastiff that does this, it’s his safe space. He runs to it when it storms, he also likes to just lay in there, I suppose its probably cooler than other places.
Why not shower with him
If the tub is cast iron, it’s probably better than the cool side of the pillow!

If your dog does this it’s because they need their own safe space to go to, maybe see if you can get them a small doghouse or enclosure.

Reminds me of tornado warnings where we and the dogs would huddle into the bathroom. The only time the dogs would willingly enter the bathtub because they’ve done it before. Sometimes even during regular thunderstorms.
The dog has been going through some shit and needs time
