Story in video games can be more than cinematic. TLOU, GoW, Uncharted, and most of the rest of those there are all cinematic games, not story games. Try out Return of the Obra Dinn, Papers Please, or Disco Elysium if you want a look at how very good stories can be brought across in ways other than treating the game like a very long movie.
dark souls 3 story? WTF those souls games is just a bland the unkindled/hollow bobobo the sun and the king and kill these muthafuckas and you become the next king. All this at the begining, the rest is just enemies and boss fights until a cutscene at the end.

Doom has story. But the meat (and probably potatoes) of this is the gameplay. Like Bulletstorm. It’s not that the story isn’t important, it just doesn’t overshadow the gameplay.
Ah man! You don’t have my favourite story driven franchise there. If you haven’t already, you should give the new Wolfenstein games a try. The gun play is really satisfying and the story is very good.
Well, if you like over the top action stories it’s very good.

If you’re a fan of Control, you should definitely play Alan Wake 2. Remedy really outdid themselves with this one.

I’d put on Planescape Torment, Disco Elysium, and both Pathologic games.
