I get some negative comments for living in Tennessee, but this is my view. The LCOL is just a bonus!
I don’t think Tennessee catches all the shit it does because of its hills and trees.
Looks lovely though.
Beautiful view. Happy for you
The hills and trees calling me a slur and being armed to the teeth about it is nice too. Shame about the schools…
I spotted some overt racism over there in the treeline
My mother’s family is from Alcoa/Maryville TN. Being there so much and then later living there, I lost the appreciation for the beauty of the Smokies. Moved to Chicago, loved it, and then once I finally came back to TN after a while I was awestruck by just how beautiful the Smokies are in that area. Tennessee has more of its fair share of problems and idiot politicians, but the land itself is gorgeous. And it also gave us Dolly Parton, so.
Shame about the homophobia, transphobia, racism and rampant poverty.
Beautiful landscapes, though, yeah.
Nice view. Just ignore the racism, homophobia, poverty, political divisiveness, and overall bigotry.
LCOL only if you’re outside of one of the major cities… lovely view, but that view also comes with an awful lot of unwanted political views.
Is this a joke post? All I see is a field of dead grass
I don’t think your view is worth being a minority in that shithole of a state.
It’s a field
Not to be rude, but have you traveled much outside of TN? I wouldn’t say this looks bad, but not nice enough to post about tbh. I’m sure it’s much different from your perspective in real life though.
This is a pretty average view for 70% of the country
42% nuclear energy for the state from two plants is pretty cool 🙂
Where is this low cost of living you speak of? My rent doubled in two years. It used to be cheaper before all the racist people from other states sold their homes and moved here. 😂
My husband’s parents (we are gay) moved to TN for retirement. They live in Grimsley and the area is beautiful, it’s just kind of in the middle of nowhere and hard to get to from CT. Like we flew into Nashville and it was 120ish mile drive, it would have been about the same if we flew into Knoxville, though the flight might have been a tiny bit shorter. I’ve only been once since they moved but they are planning to move closer to Knoxville to make travel easier and to build their perfect house. I’ll feel a little bit better about going to a larger community when visiting, and while I didn’t have any negative issues with being gay on the visit it is something that worries me.
But yeah it is a beautiful state, I just wish I didn’t feel like I had to worry about my safety there.
It’s meh?
Tics
This is the first place I noticed that Confederate flags were sold openly was kind of shocked by that.
I too like to look at vast stretches of dead grass ☺️
You must not live in the greater Nashville area if the cost of living is low lol
I was born in Ducktown, now I am stuck in Lodi.
Beautiful state, but the whole southeast has gone nuts, not just Tennessee.
This picture could be anywhere honestly.
Looks nice and I’m sure it’s a great place to live for some. But LCOL is generally for a reason—because a lot of people do not want to live there.
You like what you like. This view doesn’t do it for me though.
That “LCOL” is doing quite the heavy lifting here
LCOL, really? Visited this summer and loved it so much I thought about leaving but can’t afford to leave SE TX.
it’s just brown???
I mean, if that’s your cup of tea then enjoy I guess
You can find this exact scenery in almost every state
LCOL?
Citizens of TN receive their first two years of college for free – up to 60 hours. They can be of any age. There are two different programs: One for HS students, and one for adults going back to school. This really helps with COL as well.
Beautiful plot
I mean …this could be a view in almost any state in the union. A dried up old field and some hills and trees. I mean. It’s probably nice to be around but c’mon, that’s about as special as a dollar store hand job.
Yeah it’s not because of the scenery… it’s because of the government and people
I lived in TN for 2.5 years, i loved the countryside and cost of living, but there are many nicer views throughout the state.
Also was getting very tired of the political landscape. And that was back in 2012
Looks good- not to be negative but I wouldn’t call that pretty so much as standard. Trees hills field. I haven’t been everywhere in the US but where I have been looked like a lot like that .
That’s a good view?
I may get downvoted for this, but it’s literally just a field
