And that folks is why you teach your kids to cook, clean, and laundry, as soon as they can walk. Geez I was babysitting a 2 year old that helped me “press buttons” “stir the pot” or get ingredients outta the fridge, before he could speak a complete sentence.
Ah… the classic “I raised a shit kid and now I’m happy to be rid of my responsibilities. And I have NO intention of dealing with the consequences of my actions”.
Like the art style though. And the 4 window format is nice.
I if to teach my college roommate how to use a washing machine. Iāve done my own laundry since I was 13. My grandmother said I was old enough to know how to take care of myself
I mean, idk maybe raise your kid so they learn this stuff instead of doing it for them and then making fun of them?
Might be personal, but my mom never let me cook anything while I lived with her and then when I invited her to my place for dinner as an adult she criticized the food I made. Like, yeah lady, I’ve only been doing this for a year, cut me some slack.
looks identical to every other zero effort comic with no actual joke, except youāve inexplicably given the character a moustache above where his nose should be
If this kids parents did not teach them how to do these things they didn’t do a good job.
I was already doing all these things myself years before I moved out. I was cleaning washrooms, doing laundry and helping with meals in elementary school.
Well done comic, but I donāt agree with the sentiment haha. I was so happy to move out to stop having my mom nag me to clean and ābe productiveā. She never did any of those things for me, she just yelled at me to do them.
I feel like I should try to have an empty fridge because I just end up throwing a lot away because I don’t eat as much as I thought I would when I did the shopping.
I remember the first time I met adults who didn’t know how to do their own laundry. It was bizarre.
I mean granted, my parents split when I was a teenager so I was doing all this housework and helping raise kids, having more responsibility than most people my age, but in struggle to fathom that anyone actually is like this when they first move out š
Yeah nah dog – this is some boomer garbage. If your kid moves out and can’t take care of themselves, that’s on YOU. Either you spoiled them or failed to teach.
My roommate right now: 24 ys. Sleeping on a dirty matress without a sheet. A sheet as a blanket. Clothes lying everywhere in his room. Rarely washing them. Mostly eating toast and leaving veggies on the counter letting them rot instead of storing them in the fridge..
Also not the best at cleaning the flat.
Good it’s only 2 more month with him..
I had to live at home until I was 23 due to school and the outrageous cost of living where I was. I was basically self sufficient chore wise from about 15 on. Not to mention I helped with a lot of the chores for them, laundry, dishes, grocery runs etc…
The only difference between living at home and moving out was how much I was paying in rent, but my pay doubled so there actual effect on my quality of life was positive.
I like the art style! But It feels like the last section should be flipped. Why is she saying I miss you too, before someone says I miss you?

The last panel needs flipping!
Is this really a thing people experience?
I was *ripping* to move out when I turned 18 and never missed any of this stuff from home.

The last section should be flipped, as said above.
Also, looks like some relate a bit too much X)

Most of these things are easy to learn. I had lower standards than my parents when I moved out, though.
I like the Simpsons reference, the boat painting
I had the exact opposite experience. My mom is a messy hoarder, and I was constantly doing all the work. Now my house is clean and hers is disgusting.
Ah yes, the hilarity of an adult without the ability to take care of themselves, likely due to mediocre parenting
I also got my first apartment recently.
The laundry doesn’t wash itself.
But the reason for that is the lack of washing machine. We’re supposed to have a laundry room in here but the washing machines haven’t arrived yet.
So for the past 2 months I’ve been washing my clothes in a bucket with some detergent.
It’s really fucking annoying.

Yeah like parents do that stuff. Or chores are no longer a thing?
Ya’lls moms did a half ass job raising you if ya can’t take care of yourself.
The attention to detail on the phones
The stache is killing me

Wait until you get a house, because you are lucky having an apartment. You don’t need to fix your own plumbing or electrical in there.

Your last two frames are in the wrong order

Mom is the fool here. She should have raised him to be a functioning adult instead of babying him. Both would have been better off.
So true

You have no met my mother…
I like the style. The comic itself isn’t very funny. I’m dense af, but even I saw the punchline coming from the second panel.
I had to live at home until I was 23 due to school and the outrageous cost of living where I was. I was basically self sufficient chore wise from about 15 on. Not to mention I helped with a lot of the chores for them, laundry, dishes, grocery runs etc…
