One of my all time favorite shows. I watched live from premiere to finale. It’s still one of my go to comfort shows.
One of my favorite series ever!
>In its time on the air, ‘House’ managed to secure some world records:
>>- The medical drama was listed as the most popular programme on TV, at its peak being watched by a phenomenal 81.8 million people in 66 countries.
>> – Hugh Laurie was named the most watched leading man on television by Guinness Book of Records.
>> – Following 2 Golden Globes consecutive wins for Best Actor/Dr Gregory House, Hugh Laurie earned $400,000 per episode, making him the highest-paid TV actor in a drama series. Increasing in later seasons to $700,000 per episode
He was great in house. Still kinda hate the ending, I forget exactly what happens, but I know I hated it.
much preferred him as bertie wooster but he did a great job as house even if I wasn’t that keen on the series
Thank you for reminding me of house
Time for re-watch numbers who knows

I loved House when it was on, and it would be awesome to see a new show that tries to reinvent it’s formula. The character development was so good but 18-20+ episodes per season led to a lot of plot lines that meandered or were not super necessary. The Amber episode still hits so hard anytime I watch it. The relationship between House and Wilson was a roller coaster that I couldn’t get enough of.
I still say they missed out not casting Tobias Funke for the role.
I ❤️ this show!!! Hugh Laurie is such an incredible talent!
I loved him in Jeeves and Wooster.
If he was ten years younger and the show came out ten years later, someone would have put him in a Marvel movie by now.
One of the best Sherlock Holmes adaptations
House really should have ended after season 6. Such a great show but it’s clear they had to drag many things out and invent shitty new plot lines to get people interested.
I really loved that show. It did get repetitive and what not but I loved every minute.
Fun Fact : Bryan Singer refused to audition any British actors for this role, so Hugh did the entire audition and a phone call afterwards in an american accent. They didn’t know he was British until they met him in person.
House and Wilson’s friendship remains one of my all time favorites. Wilson had the patience of a Saint.
The shows that introduced me to my love for shows đź’—
And didn’t he film this on a break during filming of “Flight of the Phoenix” (2004)?
Fancy bathroom
He’s fantastic in Veep as well, genuinely didn’t recognize who he was at first, but he was definitely familiar, and it drove me crazy until it all clicked.
Director: YES! this is who need! A TRUE RED Blooded AMERICAN! he is so authentically AMERICAN!!
Casting Director: Sir, he is brittish.
It’s funny. I enjoy watching audition tapes, and there are always differences between what you see in the tape and the final performance. Writing, directing and the actor having more time with the character usually lead to some obvious differences.
This is a fully formed Greg House right from the audition.
I’m currently on Season 5 of a rewatch and it’s so good.
Obviously the medical mystery stuff gets a bit repetitive – try a bunch of things until eureka it’s actually X. But it’s well written and Hugh Laurie is great.
I watch House all the time. I listen to it when I go to sleep as Hugh Laurie’s soothing voice tells me I’m a moron.
House is one show that is impossible to have too many episodes, you can never have too much Dr. House – such a shame it ever ended.
one of the best procedurals ever, Laurie is up there with Gandolfini to me, just constantly phenomenal. I’m not even sure it’s a procedural honestly, it had the classic ingredients but House’s storyline was ever evolving, and his cohorts’ along him
An interesting character that became a parody of itself by the end of the show, some episodes of house are really good but the latter seasons are unwatchable
Usually I’m surprised by how long ago something was. But in this case I thought “wow, only ten years?”. The last few seasons weren’t great, but they stuck the landing
I misread the title and was disappointed when I eventually realized it wasn’t the finale that was filmed in a bathroom.
Literally one of my favorite shows of all time.
All time great network tv show
