I loved Witcher 3’s combat! But I can’t be upset with anyone who doesn’t. Everyone has different play styles and preferences and that’s ok. I think it’s ridiculous to play sports as a video game, for example, but people love it and that’s ok.
Combat in Witcher 3 is pretty meh if you just wanna go hack and slash stuff. It’s only made interesting if you’re more engaged by planning/strategising – making the various concoctions and potions and oils and whatnot. Even if you are, the actual engagement with the enemy is still pretty meh lol.
Having said that, I played it all the way through and really enjoyed it.
I only played it on heroic so i had to plan out the combat and everything. First runthrough, i didnt. I found out about potions on the last 5 missions, didnt realise alchohest replenished it and assumed it was too expensive to bother with. Second run through was a breeze though
Bro, all they guys are telling me I need to play the witcher, but 5 minutes in I’m tired of spamming light/heavy attack. Witcher 3 combat is the most basic.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that some people will defend W3’s combat but it’s really not very good. Everything else in the game is pretty top notch.
I feel like this is a shitpost. Most people don’t even talk that much about Witcher 3’s combat, they’re more focused on the rich narrative and worldbuilding than anything else.
I’ve been arguing with people in another sub (shouldIbuyThisGame) about Witcher 3. A person asked for a game with fun combat and several people said Witcher 3.
I am playing the game right now and I love it. But I absolutely hate the combat and can’t see a reason to say ‘it is still good’. Best comment was ‘but you can use mods’.
I could never play past the first couple hours. I tried 4 times and everytime I stopped shortly after killing that weird baby and well demon bitch.
Not sure why, I enjoy open world action games a lot but I could never get into the Witcher 3 even though I enjoyed what I played.

I haven’t seen too many fans defending the combat personally. Like, I’m a massive Witcher 3 fan, but I’ve always found the gameplay the weakest part.
thick skin manny pardo
When you dig meme graves for karma.
Did anyone actually defend the Witcher 3 combat or is this shit posting?
The game was praised for the story.
Spin spin spin spin spin spin spin spin. Ok that’s done, time to go play some cards.
I played bloodborne right before trying Witcher 3. Probably could have made it through Witcher if I played it first.

I can always recognize the memes from this group as compared to other gaming groups because there’s like one layer of irony tops.
Wochen is probably the only game I would have loved to not be open World. The stories is amazing. The World is amazing. The gameplay sucks
Neither of those are nearly as thin as the average competitive gamer. Heck, I’d say it’s still thicker than the average Dark Souls fan.
Just started Witcher 3 and I’m not sure if I’m enjoying it yet or not. The combat just feels so janky.

Hot memes straight outta 2015
I love the Witcher universe, characters, books, and I have always thought the combat is it’s weakest part of the games.

I love the Witcher…but that combat has not aged well.
I don’t remember having any issues with the game’s combat. Maybe I was so taken in by the rest of the game that I didn’t notice flaws.
Most overrated game ever. Bug city. Dumb NPCs. Clunky combat.
Definitely pot and kettle argument. Gamers in general have the thinnest skin of all humans.
I liked Witcher 3 a lot.
Every time I say anything about it, good or bad, on reddit, I get downvoted to shit and back.
*Especially* if giving an opinion on Triss vs. Yennifer

Finished the game twice, story is good, the world too.
Combat is shit.
This radiates with personality and I LOVE IT
Other dragons:
“awwwwww Seath? Are you mad cause you gonna die one day cause you ain’t got no scales?”
“Bitch ain’t got no legs!”
(echoes) “ain’t even got legs!”
“how’s it feeeeeeel Seath? Being a bitch?”
A lot of “yea the gameplay sucks but it’s about the story and world building.”
Then read a fucking book? Games are games. Gameplay. If that’s bad nothing else matters.

The Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. That being said, I admit the combat is clunky.
I’ve learned Cyberpunk fans are incredibly thin skinned.
