You’re not a doctor because you bandage up your kids scrapped knee. You aren’t a teacher because you home school. You’re a moron who thinks you know better than all the trained individuals who actually took the time to learn these careers. Smh. Comic definitely took a higher road than me lol
Look… taking care of 4 children is a fulltime job. Hell taking care of one is a fulltime job. Especially if you are managing all the other aspects of running a household on top of that. So, I’m not saying that anyone who is a stay at home parent should ever feel like they have a responsibility that is less than a fulltime job.
However… Like any job, you can be bad at it; and needing to justify your position as something more than it is, usually indicates that you are constantly making excuses. Had this woman simply said “oh, I’m a stay-at-home mom” or even “I’m a fulltime caretaker for my four children,” then the comedian would have had very little material to go off of. But since her ego insisted that she inflate her position, she was an easy target.
Honestly, I would much rather get up and go to my regular day job then to stay at home, take care of four children, a house, and also homeschool those kids.
I am not against homeschooling but that fact she said they are/were poor and still continued to pop out kids (planned pregnancies) is what pisses me off. We have 2 kids and that’s it for us.
If homeschooling is done effectively, it is much like an educator job. Doctor, not to so much, come on lady don’t oversell it. But yes, an effective homeschooling role is quite similar to a teacher, and it *certainly* qualifies as unpaid labor.
My mom certainly treated homeschooling us as a full time job, and put her career on hold for a decade to get it done.
100% college graduation rate from her students, so clearly she did something right.
“Homeschoolers” are far from a monolithic group.
As a public school teacher myself, I’ve taught a lot of formerly homeschooled kids over the years. They’ve ranged from near the bottom, to near the top. It mostly comes down to the educational background and effort of the parents.
So I’m going to speak on behalf of the homeschool situation, particularly if her kids are pre-kindergarten aged. My neighbor has 3 kids in daycare right now. It’s a very middle of the road place. Not bougie. He told me they spend at least $40k a year on childcare. On top of that, they’re working so hard to be able to stay above water, they never get to see their kids. By homeschooling 4 kids, she might be saving her family $50k a year. That doesn’t necessarily put them in the black financially but there is definitely value in having a parent present.
Take note: she said homeschooling and “doctor” in response to “what do you do that can afford 4 kids?”… and neither of those things make money. That’s 6 people eating in that family. The food bill alone would be impossible for anyone with a normal job. It would be a stretch for any TWO normal incomes to feed 6 people. This again begs the question: what do you do that can afford 4 kids?
Some people need a reality check slapped in their face every once in a while.
Like you’re not a fucking geologist because you read a Wikipedia article about rocks once lmfao
Doctor = PhD and YEARS of fellowship/residency. Teacher = Master’s Degree, NURSE = Bachelor’s degree. Why not a lawyer too? She probably mixed her kid’s formula, so she has a chemical engineering degree?
I bet this woman spends a lot of time on facebook
I wish I could have seen the ladies face. This guy is saying what we are all thinking deep down. I love it
Poor on a teacher-doctor salary?

i feel bad for wanting to laugh at the lady. its low hanging fruit. very low.
if you’re poor, you still gonna have 4 kids?
I bet her other 2 jobs were principal and chef

That makes me tired just thinking about it.

She said “I’m a doctor” knowing damn well she feeds her kids Tylenol pm so they can sleep and thinks she’s surgeon general lol
Got some military spouse energy there.

She thinks she is a doctor because she is a mom???
whats the entitlement sub?
gotta make the whole class
Don’t disrespect nurses like that!
“I do a lot of things” o boy here we go
There’s no shame in being a stay at home mom. Like why didn’t she just say that
We were really poor so we made four children.
“We were poor so we just kept having kids.”
She also runs a daycare. She watches 4 kids every day.
Some people need a reality check slapped in their face every once in a while.

We’re poor let’s pump 2 more out lol
Whos paying her? The kids?
Why do some people feel the need to pat themselves on the backs
Haha, she doesn’t do anything. Someone else paying then bills.

Idiocracy is real
The minute she said “if you count…”
My mans shoulda been like, “let me stop you right there…”
“We were really poor” … so naturally you decided to have 3 more children right?
“We were poor so I had 4 kids” is not something you say openly
Mike Feeney!
