As a former telecommunications support guy, this just is.
Contacted their call center agents several times a week. Was always super nice, wasn’t their fault I had a fax line down in Roanoke, or a T1 link outage in San Jose.
Not just them, all the big ones, Frontier, Century, etc.
Even though I programmed for, and maintained Call Centers within my company*, I always regarded them as a soul-destroying circle of hell.
*At least my company was ‘on-shore’, we used all local people. When someone said their name was Sarah or Stephen, you were pretty sure that was true. (grin)
