nice comic. also the reason that multiple sentences are given, is because there’s one for each crime the convict committed. and if one sentence gets appealed they’re still in jail.
Reminds me of a joke from Goof Troop. Goofy is serving consecutive life sentences for using too much water in a drought. The judge comes to him and says, “If you tell us what you did with the water, I’ll cut your time in half.”
I would just like to add, life sentence durations actually vary by state, some could mean until the end of the person’s life, but often they are 15, 25, or 40 year periods, so hypothetically you could live through 2 or 3 life sentences
Is a life sentence a set number of years, or just until dead? Like if some guy got a life sentence and 100 years later it turned out he was immortal, would he eventually be released or just be in jail for eternity?
I thought the joke was that the prisoner was going to be let out 30 years after some *other* prisoner died (*his* life in prison)… because it couldn’t be a dumb joke about serving a sentence longer than your ***own*** life, could it?
So, not so funny fact. In Israel, Palestinians serve their entire sentence. Their dead bodies are kept in refrigerated rooms for years and only given back for burial after the sentence is completed.

And all he did was use ‘their’ instead of ‘they’re’
This is a “why don’t they make the whole plane out of the black box” tier joke

I read the judge’s bubble in J. Jonah Jameson’s voice.
When I was a kid that’s exactly how I imagined it when hearing about 150+ yrs sentences.
Bro thought that he could beat the system and get out early smh
Israel be like
Boomer comedy
The prison employs a necromancer for prisoners with multiple life sentences
Or: he gets a heart attack in 2 days in jail and will technically be dead, but survives and just need 30 years more.
“Those last 30 years, Ole Parker was a model prisoner I tells ya! ” ~Jimmy the prison guard.
A sentence is supposed to express a complete thought, but much of what our criminal justice system does doesn’t involve much thought at all.
I’ve heard of double lifetime but don’t remember where
Is this what passes for humor now? Is there a lo-fi comedy thing happening?
This has actually happened

Sentence is really to wait for HL3
The school shooter in Michigan just got life sentence without parole with “credit for 8 days served”.
“This dude is so bad that when he dies and gets reincarnated, that guy’s doing life in prison also.”
-Tom “BIKES!” Segura
OP, after reviewing your post history I strongly suggest you develop a sense of humor outside of hacky webcomics.
I thought the joke was that the prisoner was going to be let out 30 years after some *other* prisoner died (*his* life in prison)… because it couldn’t be a dumb joke about serving a sentence longer than your ***own*** life, could it?
Isn’t life in prison like forty five years or somethin?
He WOULD download a car

Good comic and I didn’t have to click through nine individual panels.
