What a start and Finale all at once!
I was there!
Reminds me of that time I got laid
6 people lost their
eye sight…
Him: oh my god that was the best 30 seconds ever!
Her: this was your first time, wasn’t it?
I wish I could be there! That was short but sweet!
But really the fireworks at our place was 40 minutes long. boring After 10 minutes.
Check out the front left couple walking away, or rather the dude being dragged ass out of there, unwillingly lol
Still the best fireworks show I’ve ever seen
How do we know which one is the Komodo 3000?
hmm, i should have muted the last video i watched, now my ears are actually bleeding, thanks!
Imagine being 5 minutes late to this event. 😂
“There, Happy Fourth. Now get the hell out of here.”
Ready?
#BOOM!
Alright, that’s it. Go home.
It happened in 2012. So it’s the tenth anniversary today.
I remember watching this from my friends roof in high school it went off half the group missed it and everyone else was sure it was just the opening and we all stood there for like 10 mins in the darkness waiting for the fireworks to start.
It’s like a CliffsNotes version of fireworks.
Never seen a mushroom cloud of fireworks before… I hope no one was injured!
I love that one lady at the start who’s hauling her (presumably) husband away by the hand looking all like “Yes, honey, explosions are cool, but we really don’t want to be around when all that stuff comes back down….”
Surprise daytime!
Even on video this made my eyeballs hurt
If you have audio on one woman says: “This is the best fireworks show ever.”
Other replies: “That was perfect.”
My thoughts exactly.
(Also, interesting that in the span of 5 seconds the event went from “this” to “that” present tense to past tense.)
Remember that like it was yesterday. Big group of us at Kate Sessions park watching when it happened. The entire park was so confused as to what was going on. They had like 3-4 shows that were all supposed to be synchronized and this one just blew its whole load all at the beginning.
Wham blam thank you Uncle Sam
I call this Heaven’s Gate.
This was told to me second hand, but apparently this was what happened (so my apologies if it’s not technically correct). Before the show starts they send a test signal at a very low power to ensure all the charges/wiring/fuses work. Something like 10% power, enough to ensure the wiring is set up correctly but not enough to fire the firework off. This signal goes to all of the fireworks at once so they can identify any areas they need to repair quickly. That night they sent the signal, but they sent it at 100% power instead of the test power level, so KABLAM.
“Dear God,
My parents are making me go watch fireworks. Its the same thing every year, loud boom and then colors for like an hour.
Let this end quickly so i can go home and play MW3 with my friends.”
Ah yes… the komodo 3000
I love the smell of napalm in the night.
Actually it’s the 10th anniversary of the show presented by Garden State Fireworks.
On Wednesday, July 4, 2012, 7,000 fireworks, intended for a 17-minute display, discharged prematurely and simultaneously from all four barges and the pier. The entire cache exploded in less than a minute.
“Nobody will ever watch that video of fireworks you took on your phone”
This is probably one of the rare exceptions lol
Everytime I go to see fireworks I hope this happens and it never does
“I swear that never happens”
My buddy flew all the way across the country to see this show. We still roast him about it lol.
am I the only one who thinks a firework show like this is way cooler than a normal one
Imagine waking up to the sound and looking out the window, you’d think we are getting invaded or bombed
If you’re recording a video of fireworks going off and this DOESNT happen, go ahead and delete the video. Neither you nor anyone else will ever want to see it again.
I was on one of those boats underneath it and it was fucking intense
California and stars
Los Angeles: makes movie and TV stars
San Diego: attempts to make an actual star
We’ll just start with the grand finale!
Well that escalated immediately.
This is one of my favorite events in all of human history.
“WHEN’S OUR VISION SUPPOSED TO COME BACK!?”
“BOX SAID 3 DAYS!”
“WORTH IT!”
It’s a girl!!!!!!
I was actually there for this and I had just turned 21 so I was pretty drunk. I thought the world was ending. Everyone looked so fucking confused.
I was at that show. Which to me, it was the best fireworks show I’ve been to. Kind of the embodiment of the US. Big and grand, but a complete fuck up.
