> GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO coming to Netflix **this December.**
It still pretty long.
LETS GOOOOOOOO FINALLY
LET’S GO!
December 2022
……. Let’s sleep for another 300 days and then LET’S GO.
December is a long time but the aesthetic looks phenomenal. I think this is going to work a lot better than everyone is anticipating.
I hear del Toro’s name a lot but honestly don’t think he’s done anything truly great since Pan’s Labyrinth
Looks good. Whimsical yet a little scary. I suppose that’s the tone Guillermo is going for (especially with its setting).
Is Jiminy copyrighted by Disney? Why is his name Sebastian?
You had me at Guillermo del Torro!
Never in doubt, with GDT I just know he’s gonna deliver. That the creator of Over the Garden Wall is credited among the writers has me even more hyped.
Can’t wait to see what kind of horror guillermo will do with the donkey scene.
Looks like Disney will beat them to release though. Their live-action and animation hybrid film is supposed to come out in Fall of this year.
I’m sold
Feels weird to have two Del Toro films releasing so close together lol.
he lived in the wooden boy’s heart, but he didn’t say what doorway he used to get in there
Netflix ain’t playing around this year. They have new films from del Toro, Fincher, Linklater, Noah Baumbach, Andrew Dominik and Rian Johnson. I think this is gonna be such a great year for movies… Scorsese, Jordan Peele, Robert Egger, Park Chan-wook also have new films coming out.. just wow.
It reminds me of Barnaby Dixon’s puppets
Oh why can’t they make an adaptation with his puppets?
That first shot lighting the match reminds me so much of when the Cooker does the same thing at the end of Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out. Even the noise of the lantern sounds like the squeak of the Cookers wheels.
I can’t believe that after all this time we finally got a release date for this. Hope the film manages to live up to all these years of expectations.
Such a shame we couldn’t get the live action one from Del Toro.
Give this man all the money to make the Mountains of Madness at last, Netflix. Do it. Be the good guy.
Can’t believe this is actually happening. Pretty sure this has been in development hell for 13 or 14 years.
Between this, The House, Chicken Run 2, and a new Wallace and Gromit (not to mention the adorable Robin Robin from last year), I am very pleased by how much Netflix is investing in stop motion lately.
He looks like he fits right in with the bugs from *James and the Giant Peach*
I was pumped for the teaser to start after the intro and then realized the intro WAS the teaser.
Yeah that’s too far down the road for me to get excited about. That’s like 5 more variants worth of time.
If I didn’t see the trailer for the movie, I’d think you were talking about that soulsborne game they are making. Seems like something he would do.
Can’t tell if it’s stop motion or CG made to look like stop motion.
Del Toro and Gustafson making an stop-motion fantasy film?
This shit is going to be amazing.
Um does that cricket have tits?
I can’t wait for this and the Zemeckis one
How strange, Disney is also releasing a live-action Pinocchio this year. It’ll be interesting to see how they compare.
Damn, this is almost a year away
what’s so funny, Mr. Sebastian?
So Pinocchio will need to devourer human souls to become a real boy then?
I am hoping for something dark but can’t see that happening after this teaser.
Unless Sebastian Jimminy Cricket literally lives in the heart of Pinocchio. Feeding off his emotion.
Is this actually stop motion or just digital animation made to look like it? I genuinely can’t tell, that’s how good stop motion has gotten. Either way, I think a remake of a movie that old (with a story that preceded it anyway) is due for a retelling, no matter how good the original Disney one is to a lot of people.
Always glad to see a Del Toro project actually getting made. The dude seems to have so many ideas, so many of which end up stuck in limbo.
