I drive truck for a living. Good money, but shit life. Been doing it for almost 5 years and Im getting out soon. Truck sim is cool and all, but For me it would be like coming home from work just to go back to work….minus the stress and real life consequences I guess
The only trucking game I played was several years ago at the arcade called big rig trucker or something like that. It was fun.
Ive been a driver for a few years now it’s good money and I’m home every day. You just gotta find the right job just like any field. Living in a truck like those all those long haul truckers would be miserable.
My uncle has been a trucker for as long as I can recall, the man drives a new Z06 Vette and is declining job offers fairly often. The man makes well into the six figures “just driving a truck”.
Go work in fuel. Clear about $100k working 60 hours a week. No student debt. The only bad thing these days is the capital required for driving school now that you NEED it vs going for a good looking resume.
I support a wife going though college, just bought a 300k home, have two nice cars and a work truck, only debt is the house, and I take 5-6 weeks of vacation every year. All on a truckers salary working 10ish hours a day, monday though Friday, and usually home by 4 every afternoon. Not a bad gig.
allways remember: truck drivers get the food, clothing, basic goods and luxuries into the stores we go to shop for those.
im very thankfull for the job they do. i watch youtube videos with dashcams. theres so much bullshit happening on the roads thats its a miracle it works the way it does.
sadly the stress is probably very bad, because ordinary people demand next day/just in time delivery.
and if you dont want to see trucks on the roads, stop buying unnessecary shit you dont need because marketing has got you in their psyops shemes.
This reminds me of a comment thread I saw once where the user said their dad worked as a train driver, and when he came back from work he would unwind by playing Train Simulator.
Man this game is like anti-anxiety medication for me! When it’s hitting hard I’ll have Pandora on the background, fix myself a drink and play for hours.
I get this is a joke and everything, but I have drivers making $120k/yr. Bottom of the pay scale, minimum daily, is $52/k. Yes, if you can study and get a job sitting at a computer at home for that, do it. Driving truck isn’t anything to look down on, though. You can make a good living if you’re good at it…
Well the average truck driver salary is quite a bit higher than the national average…it’s really nothing to look down on lol.

Some truck drivers make disgusting heaps of money. 300k+ as a flatbed driver I’ve seen.
