the colors and the character designs remind me of “Zelda: breath of the wild”. that’s good.
the animation quality reminds me of a video-game cut scene. that’s… not so good.
and most of these characters look male (and the villains and parents only say super-generic things here): I hope this has a little more… subversive energy, some feminism, queerness and maybe some of the anti-consumerist vibes of the orignial “Gremlins” movies.

I’m glad that the classic Gremlins theme is in there.
Unless this show is secretly unhinged in the way gremlins 2 was, then it’s trash.
There’s a *lot* going on here beyond the premise of “mogwai turn into horrible gremlins”. I get that they can’t just redo the movies in animation without adding something extra, but there’s so much other supernatural weirdness going on here that it almost feels like a new show that they just shoved the mogwai in for the sake of it.
Like, does the evil sorcerer guy have magic powered by mogwai, or involving them somehow, or can he just learn spells? And apparently the mogwai not only come from some kind of alternate dimension, but have a society and build their own tools and homes?!
If they’re that smart and capable, it makes the whole idea of selling Gizmo as a pet way more messed up even without the whole “turns into an evil gremlin” part. Based on the movie I kinda assumed he was like a smart parrot or dog in terms of intelligence, not literally a sapient being.
… I have so many questions.
If I had a kid I’d pretend this didn’t exist and show them Gremlins 1 and 2 instead.

Who the fuck is this show even for?
Can’t believe Multiversus diverted resources to connect to this trash and the game’ll be offline soon after it finally makes it to the screen.
