Gordon Ramsay speaks out on daughter Tilly’s weight mocked

  • I don’t want to hear this motherfucker say anything about shaming fat people. I get that he’s older now and maybe has different opinions than he used to. But it’s irritating to see a guy who’s been so outspoken about his beliefs that fat people are morally wrong and mocking them in his shows and interviews; then to suddenly have his daughter be on the other end of the mockery he used to dole out and go, “Wow, shame on you bud. How dare you?”

  • Just another asshat that doesn’t giving a shit about something until it affects them. Par for the course really. We see it all the time with boomers here on reddit, but it’s sadly common across age ranges.

  • I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but certainly there is a difference between the character he portrays on television (entertainment) and online bullying/shaming.
It’s a television character who says outrageous things to gain viewer ratings. The same could be said about Fox News and the likes. It’s an act, a farce.

Also, what is he suppose to do, sit quiet and not defend his daughter publicly?

  • Overweight people are the most discriminated upon class in western society. Children would rather be friends with people with serious disabilities than people who are overweight. I never used to be sensitive about Gordies comments but I was very aware that he has a strong bias against obesity. Sorry to say, but Gordon really has nothing he should say on the matter unless he apologizes for his own actions rather than putting himself in the victimseat.

  • I watch his shows all the time and really enjoy them, but he’s been shaming fat people for years. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong no matter who is being shamed.

  • nobody should be making fun of anyone for their weight or physical appearance in general, but isn’t gordon ramsay the guy that has gone on talk shows saying he doesn’t like certain people like jamie oliver simply because they were fat(even though he’s not really)? seems a bit hypocritical.

  • Celebrities love controversies like this. Good or bad, it makes them a talking point. It’s the first I’m hearing of this so perhaps it was like 5 people on a twitter thread mocking her weight so they went with it. The goal is to make as big a deal of it as possible so she can start writing articles and books about body positivity, and make £££.

If you put yourself out there so publicly on TV and the internet, you need a thicker skin because you could look like at 11/10 supermodel but someone will be in the comments to call you ugly.

  • Oh Gordon how the tables have turned mate. If anyone hasnt watched boiling point (1999) in which you see a young Gordon Ramsay not doing it for the cameras, i suggest you watch it. You’ll see just what an absolute garbage human being he really is.

  • Fickle AF – How many times does this guy call people “Big Boy” in the run of a show? He’s made his career on being bombastic at people’s expense. He’s a great chef, Gordon Gets Lost is my favorite because he’s out of his comfort zone, learning and contributing; not constantly trying to seize control talking down to people. His sudden decided empathy isn’t compelling. Maybe people are getting tired of the angry know-it-all shtick.
