It’s the only Souls game I didn’t finish. Finally got to experience one of these classic remakes for the 1st time in their upgraded form.

Glad my first run was on PS3, BEFORE it was cool.
I have yet to play the remake. Gonna definitely get it in the future though.
The only reason I would consider to buy a ps5. But… I hope it will come to pc
There’s just ***something*** about Demon’s Souls that you just simply can’t get with any other SoulsBourne game. The atmosphere is downright bleak, grim and sinister that even Bloodborne doesn’t have.
Apart from the fact that there is no proper checkpoint system this game was real good . I tried like 10 to 15 times with the tower knight boss run and fed up , stopped playing . Difficulty i can understand but stupid level design i can’t . Games are supposed to be fun even when it’s hard and not supposed to be frustrating.
š my ps5 died before I could make any major progress. I really enjoyed what I was able to play tho
I never played the original, so the remake was my first experience with the game. I liked it, but I didnāt love it; the combat couldāve definitely used an update, just felt kind of dated and unsatisfying.
I do like the āgimmickā/ puzzle bosses and would love it if the souls games would double down on that kind of stuff and improve the concept.
i beg them to port this to pc…
I prefer the original. A lot of the changes in the art direction was a negative imo.
The remake does not look like a souls made by From Software given theaesthetic changes, design, sound etc… that brought Bluepoint to the remake.Ā
Explanation to make it clear what I mean by Demon’s Souls remake does not look like a souls made by From:
Players of souls games know that the setting, the artistic side, thesound, the aesthetics etc… are important for what From wants to convey to theplayer, but Bluepoint has changed many things ruined this, for example thedesign of enemies like the fat official, the first level of the prison of thetower of Latria at a sound very different from the original, when you are inthe soul form in the original do not make sounds because you are a ghost whilein the remake this is changed by Bluepoint and when you are in soul form youmake sounds, in the second level of the tower of Latria there are red flagsinstead of yellow flags that would be a reference to the boss old monk whoserepresentative color is yellow. These are some examples of some changes made by Bluepoint that change what From wanted to convey with the lore of Demonās Souls through its setting, aesthetics, sound etc.. The PS5 version may be much nicer visually, but in games like Demon’s Souls, changing the aesthetics and sound means ruining what From wants the game toconvey to you through aesthetics and sound.
After playing every other From souls game, this one was just pretty meh to me. I had fun playing through, but it didn’t quite capture me like the other games did.
Here’s to hoping for a WInter/Fall 2023 PC port. Either this or Ghost of Tsushima
Demon’s souls remake is simply stunning.
i felt the same about my first darks souls game, was also the remaster and was told that for some weird reason the remaster should be easier.. they call that the easier… yeah i’m glad i got the easy version then, no need the try the hard one, thank you !
yes i just beat Allant on my first ever play through also. good luck it is an amazing journey. in my opinion, not as difficult as Dark Souls 1. I think DS1 and its DLC is some of the most difficult gaming I’ve ever experienced.
I was already a From Software fan before this originally came out. I hadn’t even heard of it before seeing it on the shelf. “Armored Core is awesome, I bet this is pretty good too.”
4 hours on the PS3 version to just barely get passed that very first staircase. I shelved it only to pick it back up 6 months later and not quite as soon as I’d like later, beat it.
PS5 version pretty much validated the PS5 at all for me.
Good job From Software. Good job.
Played the PS3 version and finished it, even though some of the game might be a bit mechanically behind the time, most of it still holds up.
You could here my dad getting mad while your watching a movie with the door closed in another room
