Bro I thought this game was a banger after a few updates. I went back after being really dissatisfied with Baldur’s Gate 3 as an RPG, just in time for the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update.
If it came out today, as it is now, I’d say it sets the bar for RPGs. It is objectively better at being an RPG than Baldur’s Gate 3, and I wish I had saved my money and bought Phantom Liberty instead.
Look, no one gives a shit about some random blowing a videogame, but the writing in Cyberpunk 2077 ranks Best In Show for games I’ve played in the past 15 years. There are hundreds of little stories, each one of them setting a tone for the world overall. Playing through this with care, like I did with Chronotrigger and Final Fantasy games, takes me back so far some of you weren’t even born.
Cyberpunk 2077 is OC, it’s visual, written, and immersive narrative, and of the dozens of RPGs I’ve played in my life it is in my top 3. This shit is worth every penny I paid for it, and I feel respected by the fact that they’ve kept making it better.

My issue is I always have to make sure the voice matches the body, that’s why I like unvoiced protagonists in games because I don’t feel like I have to match my characters age/weight/look to fit a voice.
