I mean, I think it’s just harder to find the good games. I check steam and oh look, early access titles. Will they ever actually launch? Who knows. I’d need an Xbox, PS5, and a Switch to play every console game coming out. Then you have a dozen other store fronts outside of Steam like Epic.
My options were games on the Nintendo, and Super Nintendo, and that was further limited by what the store had in stock.

Then I remembered playing AdventureQuest(which did kick ass, but very simplistic flash game), Graal, weird chat room games, stupid Facebook ninja games, Coomie Clicker, and a bunch of other really dumb stuff. It’s mostly nostalgia for why I still think those games are awesome. I doubt Roblox is as bad as we think it is compared to what we played as kids.
When you are a kid you have pretty much no standards. Whatever new shiny toy you can get your hands on is fun. Then nostalgia flavours it enough for it to still be good even when there are better things available. I used to be really into Mass effect and Dragon age, but replaying them now and actually really listening to dialogue, it’s a cringe-fest. Didn’t realize how absolutely garbage bioware are at making characters and writing dialogue, yet they are praised for it. Characters does not act like normal people act and often things they say makes no sense. Still fun though but miss being dumb enough to have most of it go over my head.

To give some context, in the 2nd video they interviewed a 12 year old girl who ended up in a Discord with a 20+ year old male developer that was sending her super inappropriate messages because Roblox removed their forums to force these development teams onto Discord so that they can legally say “it didn’t happen on [Roblox.com](https://Roblox.com) so we aren’t legally liable for what happened to your child”. It then explains the story of how when she did finally report this group of groomers to Roblox, she received huge amounts of online harassment and Roblox did not ban the people sending a minor explicit messages even though she gave them screenshots, because “it happened on Discord and not Roblox” even though Roblox removed their forums specifically so they could use that excuse in a court to avoid any legal liability to children being sexually exploited on their platform.
It was also discovered that several major executives of Roblox do not allow their own children to play Roblox. I wonder why.

Well, yes and no. I love racing games, but i cant force myself to play new NFS games. I sitll play the older ones like NFS Porsche or Most wanted. Then if it comes to new games, one of the best i ever played is new Pathfinder, which is better than almost anything i played in the past.
In my opinion AAA games suck way more than they used to in the past. Fallout 76, Anthem, Mass effect Andromeda (i did like it tho), new Assassins, Cyberpunk.
When you get older you have the experience of your gems and get to forget the amount of crappy games/shows/whatever that existed alongside your happy memories.
