I’ve been in this situation before where the engine stopped working when we got back to port. The thing you need to remember is there are no brakes for a boat. When you are hooking up to a morning you usually use reverse to slow down and tie onto the morning. It is really hard to get the speed right using sails and you need someone on each sail at a moments notice. The swimming is a good idea in this case…but I hope they got close before they sent him into the water.
The irony of a **sail**boat being pulled by swimming to avoid gas prices. Brilliant
If only there was some kind of large sheet thing that wind could use to move it along.
