For some reason I REALLY wanted the original Xbox controller because of how it looked as a kid.

Looks like… kirby
It’s an Awesome controller. There’s a new version of it that works with Xbox and PC if you want to live that Nostalgia life today. ;P
They make a new one for Xbox Ones and Xbox Series. It’s called the Duke like the original. Kinda expensive though!

Awful controller IMO
Damn boi, he thicc
I forgot that Xbox controllers used to have extra black and white buttons.
I loved it because I’ve always had big hands. Just felt right.
Damn this just brought back some lost memories
I remember playing Halo on the Xbox display at the store back when it first came out. The controller was so massive and cool looking, it definitely made me want an Xbox
They really went for that “stuffed with power” aesthetic back in the day, didn’t they? The console itself was bulging like a spicy pillow, making it look like the sheer power of it was going to make it explode.
Oof I hated it. Controller S fo’ lyfe
For all it was mocked, it actually was the most comfortable controller i’ve ever used. But I have bigger hands so
Chonky boi
It sucked
They made this MF out of recycled Nokia phones because this shit was indestructible and could be used as a deadly weapon.
When I was little, I had teeny hands so I hated this controller. Prolly wouldn’t be too bad now.
Probably one of the worst controllers of all time tbh
As an adult how do you think the controller looks? Looks fat and terrible to me still 🤣
I’ll never forget how shit it felt picking up a Playstation controller after one of these bad boys. If you’ve got huge hands these were sooo comfortable.
Ah the duke! Love that controller. Nothing has fit quite like it sense that. Everything else is just a bit too small.
The smaller version had the best analog stick sensitivity I’ve seen in a controller. I played on a 360 for the first time during a halo 2 tournament. I played every round in an original Xbox until we got to the finals and we switched to the 360s because they were no longer being used for other rounds of the tournament… I lost because I couldn’t aim nearly as well. The joysticks just had so much dead zone compared to the original Xbox controllers, I just couldn’t snipe for shit.
Back when they were Indestructible.
When the smaller version of the controller came out we referred to the original as “The Duke” cause it was so big. Lots of Halo and Dead or Alive.
Duke is the best, my favorite controller to this day. It’s size, shape, and look were so futuristic looking for 2001. However, it is VERY brittle and the shell will shatter into pieces if dropped. I had 2 of them fall 3 feet off a shelf onto a wood floor on separate occasions and both brokein the same places, on the hand grips, and broke the screw mounts. They still worked at least.
I just got hit by nostalgia booting up Morrowind for the first time. Wow how time flies!
I remember using that monster as a flail in a fight with my brother’s as a kid
The Duke, nods
It was my fav Xbox controller
We used to call this bad boy the MANTROLLER. It was kind of awkward, so it grew to be a flex when you used it.
That looks hideous… I love it!
It gets bigger every time I see it..
I actually loved how it felt to hold, for me probably the best controller
I distinctly remember those triggers being very smooth
I never thought xbox would stand the test of time as a kid, it didn’t have anything to offer that PS didn’t already have while nintendo already carved out its own lane. Question for xbox lovers back in the day: what attracted you to xbox?
The worst controller ever made, at least for my small hands. Microsoft knocked it out of the park with the following 360-controller though!
It looks like a Ben 10 alien.
I actually like this controller a lot.
This thing was awesome. Those that complained were bitches. I was 11 or so and once you got used to it, the size was fine. Even the black and white buttons weren’t bad once you got the muscle memory down
