I grew out of these games a long time ago, but it looks like they put some love into this. It would be funny if this turned out to be better than like the Sonic and Mario movies lol
Because we see an endoskeleton that is clearly designed to hurt someone with the sawblades i assume that;
Afton created the robots with the intent of using them to kill people, or modified them to do so. As opposed to the robots murdering people because they are possessed by Aftons victims
I understand making the story more realistic as the games vague storytelling makes the supernatural elements more believable but that style doesn’t work for a movie.
HOWEVER maybe this is a dream sequence as it looks like Mike is certain to die but it looks like he somehow escapes, maybe the children in the forest are ghosts of Aftons victims and they are adapting the possession plot
Edit: Maybe Mike has a dream like this because of childhood trauma? Iirc in the games his brother was killed by an animatronic (the child in the fnaf 4 bite)
You know, this was actually selling me on the movie, The robots looked muxch better, it was creepy and kinda liminal, I was into it.
… But then they had to make them terminators with that naked robot leg, the constant wirring sound and those freaking red eyes and all that went out the window.
They were much scarier as just old robots, we don’t need to have the robots have red eyes to know they’re bad news!
Glad to see Josh Hutcherson getting this role. He’s got an affable persona and the naive youthful charm that could work very well with this type of horror.
My awareness and knowledge of FNAF amounts to watching some gameplay and reading some lore in 2014 when it was the internet FOTM. I haven’t paid attention to it at all since and know nothing about the sequels. But based on that alone I’m definitely intrigued in this movie, I think the premise, visuals and atmosphere of the first game are quite interesting.
When I saw the VHS style intro it reminded me of the analog horror fan vids on Youtube. Those are great. I really hope this movie gets into the creepiness, but the trailer looks too ‘slick’.
I shot a ton of EPK for this and I really hope they release a full documentary on what the Hensen company did to make these suits. They’re legit works of art when you see them in person.
I’ll admit, I lost interest in this franchise years ago, but this movie actually looks solid. Props to the filmmakers, and of course props to Scott himself for somehow turning an indie horror game into such a huge franchise with its own feature film adaptation.
So used to the game visuals it’s gonna take a while to adjust to live action. Animatronics look great, def rooting for this one. I bet Springtrap is the post credits.
I am genuinely curious how many (if any) first-person jumpscare shots there will be, to mimic the scares of the game. I hope it’s a decent amount, and I look forward to seeing this in theaters and screaming my tiny little lungs out every single goddamned time it happens.
I’m sure this is exciting to people who play the games and follow the “lore”. But as someone who only has a passing awareness of the games…this looks dreadful.
Looks good, but I think they went a little to hard on the “robot” look. Some guy said they looked like terminators with the red eyes and whirring noises, and I kind of agree. Hopefully they’ll decide to change it in post since they have like half a year before release.
The tone is quite different to what I was expecting but it still looks pretty good. I just can’t get over how dumb the angry red eyes are. They turn the animatronics from being pretty creepy to just laughable
> In Theaters and streaming on Peacock October 27.
I’ve never played any of the games and know nothing of the story
But I’m in for Matthew Lillard and the Jim Henson company. Let’s go
Kind of in shock by how good it looks. Sure it’s on the cheaper end but the animatronics look incredible.
Despite being released on Peacock & in Theaters, Day & Date, this is going to make a lot of money.
Thoughts about the red eyes? I kinda think it makes them less scary.
MatPat just signed a lease for a new Tesla Lambo.

First movie to make one billion Faz-Coins

I’m soyfacing so hard right now

This looks freaking great and I can’t even pretend it doesn’t
2014 me would be absolutely over the moon right now.
Looks fun if anything
“I’ll do it! I’ll survive five nights at freddy’s!” – Michael 🔥🔥✍️✍️🔥🔥
I liked it better when it was called Willy’s Wonderland and Nic Cage was in it.
This looks … weirdly good. A lot better than I expected.
Knowing that the Jim Henson company worked on this I’m excited to see how this pans out!
Too bad about the red eyes.

Hollywood on their way to fuck up why the animatronics were scary in the first place.

Nic Cage did it first.

I don’t understand how Josh Hutcherson got blacklisted in Hollywood after the success in Hunger Games. He was easily the best actor in that franchise
Fuck it. I know this will be mediocre but I can’t wait. I grew up with these games and I just want to see them on the big screen lmao.
i thought their eyes were supposed to be silver
Lol it’s Futterman
What’s it rated? I can’t imagine much of the audience that loves the games is over 17 lol.
For someone who’s never played the games but is very curious/interested, where should I start?
The only thing I know about FNAF, I learned from Scary Game Squad. Hopefully that is enough.
No way they don’t make this a maze for Halloween Horror Nights.
The obviously computer generated scan lines on the VHS video are bugging the heck out of me.

I don’t think the atmosphere matches the games. Looks like a stereotypical modern hollywood thriller/horror. I’m still going to see it regardless.

This is the sequel to Nick Cage’s Willy’s Wonderland right? /s
The animatronics are so well done.
