Good laptop. I have older one with the 2060, and the only complaint I have was that it took some work to be able to get decent battery life out of it for doing work.
Lowkey, should’ve waited for the 2022 version for a larger screen, trackpad and spec boost. I’m guessing you bought this on sale though since places are anticipating for the new one.
I started my journey on a gaming laptop as well. Sheesh over 10 years ago. Unfortunately the gpu died and there’s nothing you can do about it :(. I really wish laptop manufacturers would consider making upgradable laptops.

As a former laptop gamer, I highly recommend watching a a video or two on how to reapply thermal paste, and pads if need be. Laptop manufactures tend to either skimp on, or use very cheap thermal paste. Go for something like Thermal grizzly. Reapplying the thermal paste isn’t necessarily going to make a massive difference, but it should help.
Also get yourself a decent under cooler, something that can be set at an angle. You’ll want was much airflow as possible.
and learn to under-volt, that will help a little with temps as well.
I am moving out and tought about letting my brother keep my pc with a 1060 and buy for about 1k an gaming Laptop. I mean I am not a pc player, but sometimes on the Couch a few rounds with the buddys is fine and dont need the space in the new flat. Just buy a good mouse and a Headset.
