I was once having a movie night with a girlfriend who was going through the entire bag of cotton candy. I wanted a piece so I joked, āHey are you going to eat all of that?ā
***Wrong move.***
She looks at me for a hard, long second, a look of disbelief filling her face until she screams āYOU THINK IāM FAT? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE MY FATHER!?ā and runs out the door of my apartment.
So I sit there, just shell shocked for a second before I realize āI think this is where Iām supposed to chase her or things will get even worse.ā So I run out there, sheās sitting in her car obviously waiting for me to catch up, where she proceeds to explain nothing about whatās wrong and just tell me that once sheās had time to think sheāll call.
She wanted him to walk with her to class and took his answer as he didnāt want to walk with her to class, thus not wanting to be with her so now sheās rejected.
I once had a crush on a girl at school and she was giving me good signs. There was a state fair that week so I told her āsee you there.ā Went to fair and didnt see her but did see two of my buds. We hopped on the ferris wheel and just chatted as it slowly went around. I spotted her on the ground so yelled her name. She looked around before finally seeing us up in the ride. I waved and she got this look of horror, burst into tears and ran off. She never talked to me again and I always like WTF? Years later my one friend told me he and the other guy were behind me flipping her off. :/
Iām the kind of person that can just sit there and not say anything for hours, even with a person sitting next to me. Once did a 4 hour drive with my brother and didnāt talk the whole time. Made my gf (now wife) cry on 2 separate occasions cause she thought I was stonewalling her or something.
Just so you guys know, this happens in the gay world, too. Iām a masc. Every fem I have ever dated acted this way. Hell, my boyfriend right now sometimes I would come home and he is all pissed aboutā¦ I donāt actually know most of the time what I did wrong. Iāve learned over the years to just apologize and nod my head when Iām being lectured.

Only when it randomly popped up while watching with a girl mate who asked āwhy the fuck didnāt he wanna walk with her?ā did I truly understand the joke and how good it is.

At one day, she brought me a self-cooked mealā¦ problem was, I already ate. So I just said āThank you. But I just ate and Iām full. I will eat it laterā.
To which she replies
āSo, when you donāt want my meal, just tell me and donāt lie!ā, turned around and stormed out of my office.
I thought āThat was weirdā and went back to my table, because the phone rang.
An hour later her coworker came over (she shared the office room with her) and told me that said woman was not only angry about refusing her meal (what I didnāt do) but also that I didnāt follow her. Which made her more angry. And because that made her angry, she became even more angry. Her anger escalated ^^
Next day I tried to speak to her, but she ignored me (her coworker was there too).
So I said āNa dannā¦ā (Well then), turned around and left the room.
The problem with this joke, is only 1% of the time did she want to walk with him.
99% of the time, theyāre just making conversation.
Ergo ā most of the time, if the man assumes āinterestā and says āletās walk togetherā etc. ā then the woman cringes about āharassmentā etc..
So itās a smart joke, but thereās a worse reality to it.
