George Harrison, a close friend of Idle, (unbeknownst to them) mortgaged his home, so that he could single handedly finance this movie. Cleese jokingly referred to it as the most expensive cinema ticket in history. I believe roughly £4,000,000.

The amount of creativity and sheer fucking brilliance in these two individuals is astounding.
