I kind of prefer slightly off key singing. It’s got that post-punk power pop teenage vibe, reminding me a bit of Husker Du.

I saw this live, it was the NYE show at the Space Needle. Didn’t sound great.

I really dig this guys, and everything they have put out. The vocals are an acquired taste. However, saw them at sxsw last year for a short set. The vocals just really don’t translate well live. Still really dig their stuff.
Gotten to see them a few times, and they are fun. They generally don’t sound this rough. Bad mix maybe?

I can’t drive by Enumclaw without thinking about Mr. Hands. I don’t think they’ll live that down in the next few decades.
Honestly, the vocal blame should be on the mixers more than the singer himself. Yeah, he’s not hitting notes, but this type of music really doesn’t need that. That said, rarely will straight up completely dry vocal mixes ever compliment the instrumentals. It’s also wild to me how people are so nonchalant about insulting a person’s vocals who has a band that has gotten to the point they can play KEXP. What have you done?
They shill these guys at the Kraken games too. Music’s bad however I give the lead singer a pass becuz he has a Steve Pool mustache.

This feels like a superficial imitation of the vibe they’re going for rather than the actual vibe itself. If they actually nailed it and added some technical and lyrical complexity, I could be on board since I love this sound. Not trying to offend, but they wouldn’t have even gotten a sniff if they were around when this sound was in its heyday, they just sound like they’re trying to be too cookie-cutter sell-out from the get-go

Saw them live in Boston last summer. They put on a great show.
I went and listened to their album. The dude still has the same voice and cadence, he just kinda lands on the note on the album. This is just distracting, unfortunately
