I honestly dont have a big problem with this. It makes sense to reuse assets in various games. It’d only be notable by a handful of people, and evne then, who cares?
Theres plenty of reasons to hate on EA, this isnt one of them.
Are you gonna get mad that some of the trees in RDR2 are literal exact copies of trees from GTA5 cus thats true.
Doesn’t everybody do this from time to time? Why go through making a new model for every new game that comes out when you already have assets you can reuse? Yes, EA is a shit company but reusing assets to cut down on dev time and get to work on other things is pretty common.
I don’t understand the issue with this.. If you can watch same actors in different unrelated movies, you can tolerate same models, in different unrelated game.
Sometimes people is taking too far with “lazy” developers thing..
I mean, why would they not? Do you know much it takes to make assets for games? It saves a lot of development time and money to reuse assets where you can. Obviously don’t just copy and paste everything, otherwise it will be clear that you did and beak immersion, but here they just used a similar model. They did updated textures and clothes to match the game at least. I get that EA is a shit company, but this isn’t a fair criticism when all studios do this. Hell, I’m pretty sure Rockstar reused some tree assets from GTA in RDR2 and it isn’t an issue
I wouldn’t say it was a bad thing tbh. I’d do the same so long as it’s not super noticeable.
Smart to me idk

Ehhhh this is pretty normal for game development. While I’m all about hating on EA, reuse of previously created assets is not unusual.
This is an acceptable cost saving measure by all standards.
Mmmm, sorry, those are different. Similar, but different.
Is it just me or are none of these the same model.
Kind of similar sure but none of them have matching noses eyes or lips or even ears…
Why wouldn’t they?
Could also be modeled after the same person?… Games do that now you know… Model characters after people in real life…

Wait until you find out how many games use the same generic free assets.
never understood the people that get upset about this shit.
This is common in gaming.
Companies tend to reuse assets in their titles. Whether that be character models or animations. Don’t see why it’s become an issue as of recent.

Op never had a job before

Am I crazy or am I just not seeing the similarities? Even lined up the lips and eyes are very different.
It looks like Francis McDermott.
Just looks like three different white ladies. Am I the idiot for not seeing it 🥴
Hey, it’s the main character from Returnal.
I’d do the same as game developer.
