When i was 10 years old I asked my parents for Donkey Kong for the gameboy for my birthday, intending to get the Donkey Kong Country. Instead, they got me this. I was mad, because I didn’t know any better. This is still one of my favourite games, and the first ever game I beat the final level.
Holy shit how did I forget about this. My dad bought me this game from a flea market back in the 90s and I played the hell out of it. And even better if you put it into the Super Gameboy it had a custom background which blew my mind even more.
That was seriously one of the best Gameboy games. Around 100 levels, no two were alike, and there were so many fun concepts and unique puzzles to always keep you entertained. That game kept me busy for so many hours of road trips.
I think I must have been like 8 or 9 when I got that gameboy game. Absolutely incredible game, so many ideas and mechanics crammed into a tiny package.
I never knew the gameboy donkey kong was different. i remember seeing it on clearance at random stores, but thought it was just another arcade port so i never picked it up.
Oh man, those nostalgia feels. I’d forgotten all about that GameBoy game. I couldn’t tell you how many hours I put into that one. What a fantastic game.

Donkey Kong ’94 is in my top 5 favorite games ever. I have played through it countless times.
Jumpman (1984) is an underrated masterpiece. That is all.
The things nintendo did with so little memory is nuts.
Beat it then, still have it today!
