Wow, almost all of these scenes are really good. Feels like some should be in the movie, but the movie is already perfect so… show how hard it is to be a editor or director
I think it was a good idea removing some of these scenes that guide the audience. They didn’t need to spell out the series of events so hard and the movie was better without the rails.
Some of these don’t work because they screw with the way the character is portrayed. For example, the scene with Peter and Nina (Corporate Accounts Payable) just makes Peter look like a jerk, even if it’s completely understandable for him (or anyone) to react that way.
Other ones like the first Peter/Lumbergh scene just go on too long and really don’t tell the audience any more than what the existing scenes in the movie showed more effectively.
The scene with Bob and Milton doesn’t work on a few levels. It’s one of those few times when ‘tell, don’t show’ actually works better than the opposite. Plus, the Bobs work best behind the conference table… it feels weird to have one of them going out and interacting with people in their work spaces.
**This is GOLD!**
So Lumbergh dies in this version?
I’m glad they took out that last scene, it’s too bleak. I prefer it that Peter found some measure of contentment in the end.

That scene where John McGinley is sitting on the box had me rolling.

I legit hate this film, everytime I watch it I end up finding a new job because it’s so accurate.
Nobody wants to work anymore!
You’re god damn right.
“You’re sounding like a Gen X coffee house dick right now.”
😂
I can see why they deleted them.
Jesus, I can’t believe that was over 20 years ago!
At work I would use quotes from this movie all the time. People who never saw it, must think I was some nut job.
