December 1, 1970 Tampa, Florida Duane Allman performed live with Derek & The Dominos. It was the first of only two times that Allman joined Eric Clapton’s band on stage. They opened the 8-song set with a blistering, up-tempo “Layla.”

Fun fact. On the album version of Layla it is indeed Allman playing guitar.
Wish I’d been there.
Why does love got to be so sad, is my favorite song, the guitar interplay is just awesome, as is most of the Layla record. IMO.
