Been there and did that for 23 years, with many flights over 13 hours plus pre barding & post fight, sometimes up to 2 hours travel to hotel each stopover. We also had delays due to tardy passengers, weather and each flight checked over when it landed and some things the plane couldn’t fly until it was fixed 100%. Longest time on duty was around 38 hours continuous as flooding meant relief crew couldn’t get to take over, passengers couldn’t be sent to a hotel and we couldn’t fly on as pilots were out of hours. All we could do was continue running movies (before seat screen were even thought of)m keep getting what food we could from catering kitchens, serve meals & drinks & wait until other crew could get to airport,
Kudos to that reporter for flying for 24 hours straight for a 3 minute segment
Thanks Tom
