Yes, but controlled aggression. There is a method to it that makes this game so exciting and relatively safe to play.
Is it possible to learn this power?
This is just rugby lol, it will just look considerably more violent with no pads.
Here are some player highlights from the Flying Fijians.

Some real genetic mutants here.
I’ve played rugby for 15 years from age 7 to 22 (including college level rugby) and outside of maybe 1 or 2 of those tackles being borderline illegal, all of them were legal hits.
For offense they do what you have always been trained to do: secure ball and run over defenders and pass while in contact. For defense they are doing form tackling, well below the neckline (with exception of 1 but even that had the opponent going down).
It’s a fun sport but I wouldn’t let my kid play it. Funny enough my worse injury (dislocated hip) that I’m still feeling the effects even 25 years after the fact happened playing football in highschool.
Rugby is safer than football because you don’t tackle with pads, you have to wrap up, can’t hit higher than shoulders, and most important you tackle to gain possession – giving an inch (or event 2 feet) is ok in rugby if it means you make the ball presentable to your side. In football every inch counts so you have to hit people straight up.
But I’ll say, these guys take not giving an inch to an extreme. I’ve played against a few teams from Fiji and Samoa and even 25 years ago they played with same style as this.
Wow. It got too violent to watch. That guy who got sandwiched mid way through the vid. He looked like he got knocked out and his neck broken. I hope he survived
Violent? The most indisciplined team at the World Cup is probably Tonga, not Fiji.
Now you know why the Japanese decided not to attack Fiji during WW2./s
If Mr T formed a rugby team.
>most violent
idk about that, you could probably make similar reels for most teams there. Rugby players are solid AF
Violent is not the right word. Fearsome is more like it. Fijian rugby players have always been big hitters on both offense and defense, so this is nothing new.
Fucking units.
Horrible title. Replace violent with physical. Those hits are things of beauties from some big dudes. The hits also look far more dramatic because of their size.
Found some more clips of them from an old British show I saw in PBS!

Two of my old Rugby teammates were from Fiji. Two of the most impressive athletes I’ve ever dealt with.
They were also two of the kindest best guys I’ve ever met.
Why nsfw already an ad firewall in youtube
Fiji has traditionally been a rugby 7s powerhouse, good to see them making waves in rugby union as well.
It would be interesting to se these cats play NFL caliber American football.
My friend is Fijian so I’m not surprised. He said “It’s not a Fijian wedding until theirs a fight”. He’s a BIG dude, very docile, but he still throws down. I was friends with a large bit of Fijians in California and they’ll throw down with one another before they throw down with non-Fijians it feels like. I never had any problems but I’m a white dude and I don’t start shit.
Bullshit sensationalist title.
Only 2 of the tackles made by the Fijians were illegal, I’d say that there were more borderline tackles by the teams playing against them as several of the attempts to tackle them showed little attempt to wrap and a few were high.
Rugby is a physical sport, you could make highlight reels of hits from any team. The Fijians are big boys so their physicality is especially impressive but they not the only ones out there making big hits.
Look up Sèbastien Chabal for an equally impressive highlight reel of big hits.
Larry Csonka is not yet ready to sit down next to Buddha – he’s obviously been reincarnated to Fiji.
For anyone curious I looked it up and Rugby has a CTE rate of 5% while NFL has a CTE rate of 91.7%. Normal human rate is 0.6%.
Gee that title is misleading
Horrible click bait title. Don’t paint Fijians in a bad light by using those words all because they have heart
Bula bula, mother**cker.
Absolute chungus sticky wickets.
Piss off. Its rugby not tiddly winks
It does not look violent for violence’s sake. I mean they hit hard, but that’s the sport.
The Wales v Fiji match in the first week was incredible rugby! I personally thought it was better than the Ireland v SA game
Fiji’s working hard to shake that Truman Show reputation.
Im gonna make it a point to finally start watching this sport. It looks amazing, and considering I could never get invested into football, maybe this one will work.
