This is something we need to bring back for boys and girls. Home Ec has become a lost art. I don’t know a single person except for grandma that iron a shirt or sew some pants
I was a junior women’s libber in 1972 and got permission to take shop and electronics instead of Hone Ec. It has certainly paid off over time
What a waste of wonderful minds.
I know this sounds like hyperbole but man does this image come off as dystopian.
Damn I know I’m going to get down voted to hell like the other commenter but they need to bring back home ec.
Obviously not exactly the same as before. Everyone should take it, not women only. Expand the curriculum to include basic home, auto, and yard maintenance. Plus cooking, sewing, and appliance repair basics. Fuck yes. Would have been waaaay more useful than most of the random classes I had to take.
Even in the late 70s I was made to take cooking and sewing, which i failed majorly, rather than woodwork which I was good at thanks to my woodworking grandfathers teaching. 2 years later girls had a choice. Now I can’t sew a button, but I can sand and repolish your furniture or make you a cupboard.
My school had home ec in the 90s. It was for everyone.
Irons need maintenance? I’ve been doing it wrong.
Oh wow, someone found a photo of Marsha Blackburn getting her degree
🎶Boy the way Glen Miller played…
Expecting to hear MST3Ks Joel and the robots drop a sarcastic comment.
Paying “Ivy League” tuition… to learn to iron
“It heats things” What a stupid post.
