For some context – some of the people he’s visiting have been non-celebrity guests he’s spoken to on his podcast. So if you’re a Conan fan, this will help to build some backstory.
> The four-episode series is currently in production and will feature O’Brien visiting new friends he’s met through his podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan,” where he dives deep with listeners from across the country and the world.
No release date yet and only 4 episodes. I can’t wait and I wish there were more.
The Tonight Show was too small for Conan 10 years ago, and now all late night shows have lost their appeal purely based on the novelty of being “late at night”. And now Conan is absolutely kicking ass in entertainment in other formats and platforms.
His remote specials are some of the best improv comedy out there. My personal favorite was he got a lot of fan mail from Finland saying he resembled the Finnish Prime Minister. So they fly out to Finland meeting the fans and he actually got to meet the Prime Minister.
I have rewatched his abroad specials multiple times. They are always amazing. He’s able to blend his signature goofy comedy with some real, respectful cultural curiosity and even squeeze in some heartfelt moments. The best thing is he never makes the humor about the other culture. The humor is self-effacing; it’s about him being an outsider. So jazzed for this!!
There is a show called travel man. Hosted by richard ayoade who played moss on the it crowd. He invites celebrities to places for a two day weekend.
There is one episode where he and Paul rudd go to a burger king in Finland. It is a unique burger king because it has a sauna and serves beer. [Paul wasn’t a fan of it. ](https://youtu.be/tv1urfDXs-o)
This looks awesome, his sketches off location were always the best.
Conan being an uncensored nut in other countries? My kind of travel show.
So stoked for this. Conan has a great show, but he thrives on location, In the moment, with normal people.
I loved the Conan abroad sketches and since this just seems like more of it, I’m really excited

I missed this guy and his travel specials. I hope Jordan and Andy join him sometime.

I love how he appreciates the culture and the joke is always at his expense. Or sometimes Sona.
I can’t believe how much I’m watch this. Did Matt and/or Sona go with him?
Absolutely love Conan. So glad he left NBC.

One of Conan’s great strengths was to be universally liked by all cultures he visited. This is where Conan shinies the brightest. Looks awesome.
Conan just missed out on that HBO branding
Man I appreciate the hell out of this guy.
While his podcast is great, this is where he’s in his element. Looking forward!
This looks fantastic! I always loved his travel remotes, and I’m really looking forward to this now.
Also he’s visiting Norway, and as a Norwegian person I am required by law to remark upon that fact with some enthusiasm.

So THIS is why so many of his “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan”s have been international. Makes absolute sense!
It’s called Max already? Till when can I use HBO Max?

KEDAKAI, AS GOD MADE HER
It looks ridiculous… I’d watch that.
The King is back!! Long live the King
I legitimately like the theme song
This will fail just like everything else that Conan touches.
