I’ve been doing that myself for over a year since I saw it on YouTube,,I just put one filter behind the fan.. it’s unreal how fast the filters get dirty and it’s INSIDE your house ! Cheap and a great air filter !
I made one of those when my bathrooms were getting fixed to contain the dust. Don’t laugh at the kludge, it works great. And with the proper filters it can trap viruses.
This is actually a bomb ass way to clean your house from dust, smoke smell, dander, helps allergies too during that season. Don’t shame people for being broke r/lifehacks
I get it. The jokes that school budgets are so shitty and most schools haven’t been upgraded with reasonable HVAC systems that a teacher used their own money and some clever engineering to help control the flow of air born or waterborne particles in their class room to protect the students by doing something other than nothing.
Don’t know what’s funny about this. The CDC and Fauci talked about these. There savings LIVES! ITS NOT FUNNY! LEAVE THE CLASSROOMS ALONE! OUR CHILDREN NEED TO BE ON SCHOOL TO LEARN!
So, I posted because I thought it was funny. Turns out:
1. I might be a conservative uncle (NOT)
2. I don’t watch enough This Old House
3. I should have posted to r/LifeHacks
4. I am not fit to post in r/funny

My kid’s teacher created this… not sure what to say, but I hope it hovers!
That’s kinda genius. Get the dust out anyway
School budgets really don’t give teachers much to work with evidently.
Why not just tape one filter on the back of the fan?

A close friend set up something similar in his woodshop. Works like a charm
Why is this funny?
This would only work with HEPA filters if not it’s just being spread even more
Pretty much what a 700 dollar filter does
Does this suck or blow?
We’ll… It doesn’t NOT work.
This is a old invention,,, But a new one for that class!
F… not enough ductape
I made one of those when my bathrooms were getting fixed to contain the dust. Don’t laugh at the kludge, it works great. And with the proper filters it can trap viruses.
Unfortunately this is NOT FUNNY. It is a example of our underfunded public schools.
This is an excellent idea
As seen on This Old House a while back. Probably elsewhere too. Very effective air cleaning.
This is actually a bomb ass way to clean your house from dust, smoke smell, dander, helps allergies too during that season. Don’t shame people for being broke r/lifehacks
These actually work well, you can just put 1 on the back and use it that way too.
Thorp?
Not stupid if it works
WHATS IN THE BOX!!!
Kids are so stupid jesus

You could make it a swamp cooler when it gets hot too.
It might actually remove some dust and pollen.
Lol that’s not gonna stop a virus
People who think outside the box and are creative need to be put in camps. Well this being in funny makes me think that way.
PERFECTION
Maybe add high powered LEDs inside with UV light?
See this page for many more details including actual science showing its effectiveness: https://edgecollective.io/airbox/
Probably works better than gaping paper masks
Don’t know what’s funny about this. The CDC and Fauci talked about these. There savings LIVES! ITS NOT FUNNY! LEAVE THE CLASSROOMS ALONE! OUR CHILDREN NEED TO BE ON SCHOOL TO LEARN!
This is awesome. Not funny at all- total life hack.
This is a common solution right now. Especially with supply shortages. Well done to the class. This was probably a fun project.
Who needs to spend thousands of dollars on a Greenheck or Cook fan, when you can spend less than $100 and McGuyver this baby right up?

I will defintely repost to lifehacks
but Istill think its funny 🙂
Funny virus? Funny epidemic? Funny schools having unfiltered air? Funny underfunded public education?
It’s a good idea to “generally” improve air quality but yeah…
Is this in US?
It’s a shame they have to resort to these instead of the government actually making something like this to help make classrooms safer.
We build those during wild fire season. They’ll turn black within a few days
It’s called a Comparetto cube.
Ah yes, duck tape
That’s literally in my chior room
Kudos for this teacher, going the extra mile doing what she has to do or he keep the children safe
