The best Hitchcock movie, Hitchcock didn’t make.
This is the movie that cemented Cary Grant as one of my favorite actors! The scene of him “showering” with his clothes on was so incredibly charming and funny! Absolutely love this movie.
The remake – The Truth About Charlie gets kind of a bad wrap. While Wahlberg is a little miscast – Jonathan Demme’s camera movement and direction are mesmerizing. Thandie Newton is great as is the rest of the cast.
I went on a date with a girl who’s favorite movie was this. I messed up and forgot the watched the movie before the date and tanked it bigly. Always think about her whenever this movie is brought up
Peter Stone was a great unsung screenwriter.
My favorite childhood movie!
Best Hitchcock never made etc etc.
Easily in my Top 5 favorite films.
Hepburn and Grant are both incredible in this. They somehow manage to hit all of the emotional beats of the story while being equal parts funny and charming. Credit to Stanley Donne to for just letting two great movie stars do their thing.
That first shot after the opening credits is just magnificent.
I really enjoy this movies entire vibe.
Good movie. I was introduced to it by an ex, and it was the best thing she did for me. Also, the DVD was the first one I was able to watch on my 360. When I first got my Xbox, I had to connect it to my TV through my VCR, so the system prevented me from watching most DVDs. Just a weird little thing I remember about my experience with the film.
Great turn by Matthau, too.
This movie is an absolute banger for certain.
a fave
…and those TRIPPY TITLES! (also *love* Donen’s “Bedazzled” – also with trippy titles)
I love this movie, 7 minutes into it and that two having their dialogue…
I love the story of how this is public domain. Same happened to Night of the Living Dead
Amazing soundtrack.

Hepburn and Grant were an amazing duo in this.
Here’s a reimagining of Henry Mancini’s iconic theme music

Loved this movie and the fact that the ending was a complete surprise to me. I get tired of figuring an entire plot within the first 20 minutes.
