I appreciate my parents for going to my cross country meets when I was in HS/College. They’d be lucky to see me 3-4 times a race but hearing them cheer was so appreciated
This is literally me. Those 6-county regional meets. Your kid is #5,694 in line to run around the circle. Didn’t bring a sandwich. Hot dogs are 15 dollars. You have time to drive 2 hours home and 2 hours back.
My favorite is:
– 10 second race
– 4 hour wait

The best part is when there’s thirty minutes of nothing between events.

Oh, so THAT’S why my parents never came to any of my events. It was just “too much trouble.”

sounds like every baseball game I’ve seen except when you are a fan you can cheer for the other guys that sucks on your fav team
So unrealistic. It doesn’t capture the horror of sitting with a bunch of people you wouldn’t associate with under any other circumstance.
