I for one am excited for the new Zelda and Diablo. Also I’d love to try the new Final Fantasy if I had a PS5… such gigantic franchises all about to drop!
Unpopular opinion, but I think remakes and remasters shouldn’t qualify for game of the year awards. They can be great fun, but it’s shitty when a company can put out a new version of their best stuff and keep racking up awards, rather than put effort into something new. Most of the work was already done years ago.
The crazy thing is that all these games are just as re-playable today in their original format. Theres a reason we are starved of unique and interesting new IPs.
It is 2050. There are no new games. Only remakes. Originality is relegated to smaller Indy titles while major developers struggle to keep up with technological advances in game design and their rabid consumer base demanding the glory days of gaming be re-envisioned in the modern tech.
But they lie to themselves. They don’t want it remade, they only seek to keep the dying flames of memories alive just a little longer as the generation that knew that glorious generation march ever onward towards their oblivion…While younger generations wonder what the old people are so angry about all the time.
The remakes, in the eyes of those who lived it, are both a blessing and heresy to them. The flames are renewed but they are not what they knew. Each remake that comes and goes only gives a flicker of its former self until it no longer resembles what it was…And it drives the old guard into madness…
It is 2070…Half Life 3 is released. One elderly man weeps, as he is the last who remembers Half Life who still draws breath.
This might be part of the reason I don’t game anymore. Nothing feels unique or innovative and the best we can get is an improved version of the same old.
I mean call me weird, but I’d much rather take a good quality remake or remaster (especially for a game I haven’t played, but even some I have) over some generic unfinished sequel
Looks like the 00s is back on the menu, boys.
On a side note I did enjoy Fire Emblem Engage, even though the story is a Saturday morning cartoon and even then only an average one at best.
Meanwhile System Shock remake lost the release date.
Meanwhile r/spidermanps4 still waiting for a trailer of the new game

Eternal Darkness plz
Hi Fi Rush was pretty good.
Metroid Prime Remaster was necessary cause we didn’t have an official way to play the original game, unlike Dead space and Resident Evil 4.
Don’t forget Pizza Tower
Silent hill remake is hiding behind
My favorite release this year has been Cursed Halo: Again.
Dredge!
You forgot Advance Wars!

Well sure, but bangers are around the corner. Jedi Survivor, Zelda, Spiderman 2, Silksong, Starfield.
Once the big releases of may and june and the rest of the year start rolling out, it might look different.
And pls play HI-FI Rush that game deserves.
I’ve been racking up hours on Sid Meier’s SimGolf lol

Dino crisis remake waiting o.o
Still waiting for my Legend of Dragoon remake though.
I’d buy the PS5 for this.
Mfer hasn’t played Octopath Traveller 2
Golden Sun remake when?
Dead island 2 is fun as fuck. Diablo 4 and jedi survivor are around the corner. Plus starfield at some point
Its like 15 days till botw2 or something
Can’t wait to play Skyrim again.
Anyone else playing advance wars?
In all fairness resident evil 4 remake is very different from the original. Would class it as its own game
Fingers crossed for a Black & White remake sometime.
Waiting for Starfield. If it’s half as fun as Skyrim then I am in for a treat…
>!When I finally can play it in 2030!<
Jedi survivor in a couple days, Tears of the kingdom 2 weeks later.
Time is a flat circle
Man I just want Simpsons Hit and Run remake
If I may be satirical…

Imagine waking up from a 20 year coma, you’d be so confused
People missing the point of this post entirely.

LOL you can add the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster rereleases.
If yoy don’t want remakes don’t buy them. Whole lotta games out there.
Dead Space isn’t nearly as old as the other two. It only released,
*checks google*
