Wowww. This brought back memories. Waited in line with my cousin, Franklin came by and signed some posters. Bought some subway and redbull to pull an all nighter to play the game.

Ever since graduating high school and turning 20 I’ve pretty much lost all interest in gaming. Wether it’s just not having enough time due to life and commitments or the endless flood of shitty reboots and remasters, I’ve had enough.
Bring me back to the days of getting a new GTA for Christmas and having be a brand new experience to keep me entertained for hours. Bring back the days when gaming companies would give a shit about the players and not churn out garbage that may as well have been a mobile game.
I’m done.
I worked for GameStop when it came out, they sent Rockstar volunteers to our store to hand out hoodies, backpacks and other swag and I got the leftovers. Still have 10 hoodies in my closet in 5x as they wear down lol
My story ain’t that interesting, but back in 2014 i begged my parents for some money so i could buy this “Next Gen” Playstation 4 with Gta 5 Bundle, since my daily usage pc wasn’t great to run games at those times….
Year later got rid of it due to family financials & gave all the cash back to my parents.
When i “finally” reached 18 [2018], i started to basically purchase EVERYTHING what i didn’t experienced or couldn’t afford years ago.
2 more days. Oof. 10 whole years.
& not too long after, in 26th Oct, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be half a decade. & its still the benchmark of modern games. Times gone man.

GTA:O was announced well ahead of release, and the timeline for the game was roughly laid out as well. You can’t have not known it had an online component, it came out a week after launch and the game even told you as much.

And they lied about sp story addons instead they redesigned them to slowly add as online content to keep engagement and in turn boost mtx sales. Modern gaming… i wont buy another gta game rockstar is trash now

That was the last game I got during a midnight release.
I had an EB Games and a Futureshop holding a midnight release, they were across the street to each other so distance made no difference.
But I had a sneaking suspicion that most people would probably hit the dedicated game store for their preorder so I went to Futureshop.
Release night happens, I show up to Futureshop around 12:05, there’s maybe 7 or 8 other cars there and I’m in and out in under 90 seconds.
As I leave I look across the street and chuckle, the lineup for EB Games goes out the front door and wraps around the building, I couldn’t actually see the end of the line but their parking lot was overflowing into the craft store next door.
Definitely felt good about my decision that night, RIP Futureshop
