I feel like this is a relatively modern thing. Growing up, we were raised that commitments had to be kept and how we felt was irrelevant. Now it’s impossible to make and follow through with any plans, because someone tries to abandon them at the last minute.
Do people really schedule things knowing they’re going to cancel? I always look forward to doing things with friends. Don’t make a commitment if you already know you don’t want to go.
Maybe it’s the times we live in but I thought his dude wanted to cancel coffee like he had a grievance against it, not an actual date with someone.
