Honestly…I never liked this part. Anya had a thousand years of experience to fully understand what death is, the speech might’ve been good from another character but it never rang true from her.
Anya was real young when she became a vengeance demon. She never knew what it’s like being mortal. Everyone around her stayed the same age and no one died. On top of that she knows about souls and magic. Her not understanding makes sense.
